He is the current Chairperson of the Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, which provides a comprehensive Clinical Training Programme in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, in collaboration with the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine at Trinity College Dublin. Paul offers consultations in Fitzwilliam Place Dublin 2, Kilkenny City and Carlow town, . In addition to referrals in relation to all areas of general psychotherapy, Paul specialises in psychotherapy for people who have experienced a brain injury, people on the autistic spectrum, and family members of people affected by these issues. Paul also provides a therapeutic consultancy service to professionals in the areas of acquired brain injury, autism, social work, social care work, youth work, early childhood education and care, and foster care.
