📣 Past Pupil in the News — Vincent Hyland (Class of 1979)

Some of you may remember 1979 past pupil Vincent Hyland. Vincent was recently mentioned in an Irish Times article about the protection of Ireland’s marine environment — a subject close to his heart.

A renowned artist, filmmaker, naturalist, and environmental advocate, Vincent has dedicated his life to celebrating and protecting Ireland’s coastal and marine ecosystems through his incredible creative work.

🚣‍♀️ Golden Glory in Spain! 🇪🇸✨

A huge congratulations to ‘93 past pupil Vanessa Lawrenson and ‘95 past pupil Kate Rooney on their phenomenal success at the World Rowing Masters Regatta held last weekend in Banyoles, Spain.

🏅 Vanessa claimed an incredible 9 gold medals – the most ever by an Irish female rower at the World Masters Regatta, and the highest tally of any female athlete at this year’s event.
🏅 Kate, coxswain and long-time teammate since their school days, added 5 golds, steering the crews to victory alongside Vanessa.

That’s 14 gold medals between them – an extraordinary achievement and a true testament to their partnership, skill, and dedication. 👏👏

🏸✨ World Champions Among Us! ✨🏸

A massive congratulations to our incredible past pupils Pam Peard and Sian Williams – officially crowned the 2025 Senior World Badminton Champions 🏆🙌

What an achievement on the global stage – and what an inspiration for our students, past and present. Your dedication, talent, and passion for the sport make the entire KHPPU community so proud. 💙💛

🚨World Gold for Peard & Williams🚨

Pam Peard & Sian Williams 🇮🇪 have taken gold at the World Senior Championships. The Irish beat opposition from Chinese Taipei, Netherlands, Denmark to reach the final.

In the final Pam & Sian beat Regine Glondu & Isabelle Marrie 🇫🇷 21-13 21-9

An amazing achievement by this pair who once again can say they are the best in the World 👏💪☘️

👀 Look who Hilda bumped into at the Dublin Horse Show!

Hilda Smith caught up with 2002 past pupil Emma O’Neill, one of the founders of The Skin Diary.

Recently launched in Ireland, The Skin Diary is already making waves in the skincare industry – with their Night Repair therapy picking up numerous awards 🏆✨

🎶 KH Past Pupil Spotlight 🎶

We’re delighted to share that Lesley Hogan (Class of ’95) is presenting a special concert at the Royal Irish Academy of Music on Saturday 28th September.

The evening will showcase songs from 1588, a brand-new Irish musical written by Lesley, and promises to be a fantastic celebration of original work in development.
