Thinking Toys (Ireland) Specialise in providing Toys & Equipment suitable for Children with Special Needs.

Thinking Toys was established with the aim of increasing the awareness of a range of products that can bring specific benefit to children with special needs or learning difficulties. It is a family business inspired by our daughter who has Sturge Weber Syndrome and who had major brain surgery when she was 2 years old. The frustration and difficulties we endured in trying to source suitable products that would assist in her development was a catalyst in deciding to try and reduce this frustration for other parents in similar situations.

Break times are full of running, fun, and energy! A quick way to bring children back to focus is with a few chair push-ups. This simple movement helps calm the body, steady the mind, and get everyone ready to learn again. This is particularly useful for children who find hand motor activities challenging. It helps reset the hands and gets them ready for more exercises. Hand exercises such as soft Theraputty and squeezable finger animals are also a good option, they encourage finger movement and can help warm up the hand muscles in preparation for lessons.

A fantastic selection of new toys has just arrived at Thinking Toys in Killaloe! It's all about tactile toys that encourage learning and enhance motor skills. We also have a fun new fidget toy designed for children 12 months and older—perfect for pulling, pushing, and popping with excellent vibrational and audio feedback. And last but not least, we now have Bloko Blocks: brightly coloured, uniquely shaped blocks that stick together instead of slotting into place, making them a brilliant alternative to Lego for children aged 12 months and up.
