Cahernane Medical Centre is participating in the free GP Scheme for children under 6 years of age. If you have not already registered for your child's GP visit card please register online at gpvisitcard.ie. Over 70s - Free GP Care Scheme
From 5th August 2015 everyone aged 70 or over, ordinarily resident in Ireland, will be eligible for free GP care regardless of income. All people aged 70 or over who do not have a Medical Card or GP Visit Card should register online at www.gpvisitcard.ie. Medical Cards
If you are applying for a medical card the most efficient way is to apply online, go to www.hse.ie. An online application is better as eligible patients are guaranteed to get a card quicker. The online form will also help you submit a correct application.

We are delighted to welcome our new GP Registrar Dr Alicja Strazewicz to Cahernane Medical Centre.

Cahernane Medical Centre is a training practice and part of the South West GP Training Scheme. GP Registrars are fully qualified and registered doctors, i.e. they have passed out of medical school and completed their 2 years of preregistration in hospital and been admitted as fully registered doctors on to the Irish Medical Council list.

Due to a low-temperature ice warning and severe weather conditions over the coming days, blood sample collections will be effected.

We kindly ask patients with appointments to check in with reception reschedule.

Not all team members will be able to travel to the surgery over the next few days, we recommend reconfirming any upcoming appointments before attending.
