The Charity 2020
The Lough Lein Anglers' Association, regrets to inform the Beneficiaries of the Charities and the Anglers that due to the Covid 19 Virus it has to defer the holding of the Charity on 26th 0f April to a later date.
The Lough Lein Anglers' Association is monitoring developments and has deferred taking any decision on picking a new date for the holding of the 2020 Charity until the position becomes clearer. If circumstances permit and it is safe to do so we will endeavour to arrange a date before the end of the 2020 season for the holding of the event. We will communicate with you further in due course. In the meantime we thank you for your support. Please stay safe and healthy and follow the official guidelines.

An amazing €36,711.00 was raised by ‘the Charity’ Lough Lein Anglers Association, Killarney, annual charity event this year for their chosen charity - The National Rehabilitation Hospital, (NRH) Dún Laoghaire Co Dublin. Combined with a further €10,000 as a beneficiary of this years Annual Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle (ROKCC). Timo O Sullivan Chairman, ‘the Charity’ and Ian Oconnell, both inspirational men, who sustained serious injuries, leaving them wheelchair bound. It is 35 years since an accident at work, and two years since Ian’s cycling accident. Both Ian and Timo received expert care and treatment at the NRH. Presenting the cheque to Edel Lambe, (Centre) Fundraising Manager, NRH, were Ian and Timo along with Pat Curran, Treasurer, Lough Lein Anglers, Tim O’Brien, ROKCC, Jerry Dwyer, Manager Milk Operation Lee Strand, Sponsor, Bridget McGuire, Chairperson ROKCC, Phil Horan, Lough Lein Anglers, Edel Lambe, NRH, Corrie O’Flaherty, Secretary Lough Lein Anglers, Padraic Coghlan, Lough Lein Anglers.Photo:Valerie O’Sullivan

Hook Line and Sinker….A whopping €25,000 raised as Winners and Beneficiaries of ‘the Charity’ Lough lein Anglers Association, Killarney, annual charity event presentation ceremony took place at the Dromhall Hotel, Killarney. Timo O’Sullivan, right, Chairman, ‘the Charity’ with Ian O’Connell, both inspirational people, who sustained serious injuries, leaving them wheelchair bound.The chosen beneficiary of this year's charity is The National Rehabilitation Hospital, (NRH) Dún Laoghaire Co Dublin. The event took place on Sunday on Lough Lein. It is 35 years since an accident at work, and two years since Ian’s cycling accident. Both Ian and Timo received expert care and treatment at the NRH. On Sunday night Ian had the privilege of announcing ’the charity’ raised over €25,000 for the NRH. The Lough Lein Anglers Association, Killarney, 32nd annual open fly fishing competition known as ‘The Charity’. Chairman of ‘The Charity’ fundraiser, Timo O’Sullivan has chosen The National Rehabilitation Hospital, (NRH) Dún Laoghaire Co Dublin, as beneficiary of this year's charity.
