Kerry CBT Clinic Counselling, psychotherapy and psychological Wellbeing Cognitive Behavioural Therapist operating a full time professional practice in Killarney, County Kerry.

What is CBT? Cognitive behavioural therapy is one of the latest and most important forms of psychotherapy that has scientifically been found to be effective for many different emotional problems and disorders. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is focused on the present, is generally briefer than traditional forms of therapeutic intervention like counselling, and is problem-solving in its orienta

tion. Additionally, clients are taught specific skills they can use for the rest of their lives. CBT is therefore a lifelong skill that will provide benefits on a continuing basis. These skills involve identifying errant (faulty) distorted thinking, challenging, updating and modifying existing unhelpful beliefs, and ultimately changing behaviours. As a cognitive behavioural therapist, Lee works very closely with each client, supporting and actively encouraging them to become their own therapist. He ensures that each client is engaged in the process, and provides them with an array of tools. Lee describes this entire process as a ‘therapeutic alliance’ whereby a close relationship is formed. When therapy ends, clients are able to actively use all of the skills and tools they’ve learned, and integrate them into their everyday lives.
