Killeagh Health Clubs Project Update!

Monthly Walk tomorrow April 21st in Lismore. Meet at 10am in the carpark behind hotel, opposite, castle/ park.

Route: Lady Louisa's Walk and Round Hill Loop Walk.

Distance: 6k

Time: 1-1.5 hours.

All welcome including new walkers.

We are really looking forward to welcoming all our participants in both our race and walk tomorrow morning. Just a reminder that registration for the walk begins at 9am with the walk beginning at 10am it’s a flat out and back route starting at the gates of Killeagh GAA

On the day registration (€15 adult & €10 juvenile 15+) for the killeagh 4mile race opens at 9.30 and closes at 10.45am with the race beginning on the mogeely road at 11am. So come along and participate in one of the events if you can or come and support the participants and enjoy the atmosphere it’s always a great morning for all the family 🏃‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏿🇲🇹🇮🇪🇳🇬
Please note there will be some parking at our race HQ at killeagh GAA grounds but we would also request participants who are parking in Killeagh village to be mindful of our local residents, thanks.

Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project Update:

1. Ireland Lights Up Monday Night Walking continues for 2 more Mondays - February 12th and 19th from 7.00 to 8.30 p.m. in Pairc Ui Chinneide. All welcome.

2. Our February Monthly Walk will be on SUNDAY FEBRUARY 25th at the later time of 12.00 noon. Meet at car parks near Blackrock Castle for loop walk of Mahon / Blackrock. Later time is to accommodate those who may wish to attend Cork v Waterford NHL match at 3.45 p.m. in SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Please text Colman 085 7540973 if interested in joining us. Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project Update:

Killeagh GAA Grounds are now SMOKE FREE and V**E FREE.

We will launch our new signage and policy tomorrow, Monday, January 29th, at 6.45 p.m. with our local GP, Dr. Mark Buckley (in advance of our Ireland Lights Up Week 4 Walking).

All club members, players, parents, and children of all ages, and all in our community and beyond, are invited to attend our launch and to walk a few laps while you're there. Please spread the word.

Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project Update:

We have a trilogy of walks to help you get active before, during, and after the upcoming festivities.

1. SUNDAY December 17th, 10.00 a.m.. Meet at Claycastle Beach (Redbarn end) for a walk through Youghal to Slob Bank and old Blackwater Bridge (or as far as you want).

2. TUESDAY December 26th, 10.30 a.m. Meet at Mount Uniacke to walk to Killeagh in conjunction with our Annual Long Puck event.

3. MONDAY January 1st, 11.00. Meet in Old Thatch Car Park for a walk in Glenbower Wood to get your 2024 off to a great start.

All walks are suitable for all ages, we especially welcome newcomers and families, and all are FREE! Let Colman know if you are joining us, 085-7540973.

We will be doing our annual Ireland Lights Up weekly walks on Monday evenings in Pairc Ui Chinneide, starting on Monday January 8th. More details to follow.

Killeagh Healthy Clubs Project Monthly Walk for June will be on SUNDAY WEEK JUNE 18th. Here are the details.
1. We are heading to Ballyhoura Hills for a 2-hour hike. Meet at the car park beside Darragh Creamery, Co. Limerick at 10.30 a.m. Eircode of nearest building is
V35 WV09.

2. Details of the proposed walk are at https://visitballyhoura.com/explore/castlegale-loop.

3. We will have Bridget Donovan (Dangan) as our local guide with all the knowledge of the area, and possibly other locals also to join us.

4. Please let Colman know if you are interested (085-7540973), and as always, new walkers are welcome.

5. Please try to car pool if possible, and we may try to organise lunch in Mitchelstown or Fermoy on the way back.

Climb to reach the cairn of stones on Carrighenry Hill with views over Golden Vale countryside. According to a local story passed down through generations, tenants in this area would hoist a flag atop this pile of stones to inform others that the local landlord was in the process of collecting rent.
