We are delighted to announce that from Monday 19th January, Killenaule Pharmacy will be participating in the new Common Conditions Service. The Common Conditions Service enables community pharmacists to provide advice and offer expanded treatment options to patients for eight common conditions.
While pharmacists already provide advice, over-the-counter treatment and/or referral for these conditions, this new service expands community pharmacists’ ability to manage and treat patients with these common conditions by enabling them to prescribe certain prescription-only medicines, where appropriate, in line with HSE clinical protocols.

The eight common conditions are:
Allergic Rhinitis
Cold Sores
Conjunctivitis
Impetigo
Oral Thrush
Shingles
Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs)
Vulvovaginal Thrush This service is subject to a consultation fee.

ADDITIONAL WINTER CLINIC FOR ACUTE MEDICAL AND RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS

This week Monday 26th January, Tuesday 27th January and Thursday 29th January, 5pm to 7pm by appointment only. Ring 052 9156134 for an appointment.

GP practices nationwide have been asked to support the HSE in managing increased pressure on health services over the winter months.

Killenaule Surgery will operate dedicated Acute Medical/Respiratory Clinics from Monday the 8th of December to the 15th of February.

These clinics are intended for urgent respiratory or acute medical problems only, NOT for routine consultations.
