Sepsis is one of the top killers in Ireland, be sepsis aware
🌍 September is Sepsis Awareness Month 🌍
Sepsis is the body’s overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection. It can lead to tissue damage, organ failure, and death if not recognised and treated quickly.
Every year in Ireland, thousands of people are affected by sepsis, yet many don’t know the signs.
💡 Remember the symptoms with the acronym S.E.P.S.I.S:
* Slurred speech or confusion
* Extreme shivering, muscle pain, or fever
* Passing no urine (in a day)
* Severe breathlessness
* It feels like you’re going to die
* Skin mottled, discoloured, or very pale
👉 Sepsis is a medical emergency.
If you suspect sepsis, seek medical help immediately.
How you can raise awareness this September:
✅ Share this post and talk about the signs of sepsis with family & friends
✅ Wear red on World Sepsis Day (September 13th) and tag us in your photos
✅ Use the hashtags
