My amazing and talented friend will showcase a beautiful open air theatre experience with her play ‘For the Love of Ledwidge’ which explores the love letters to Lizzie Healy who lived in Wilkinstown with his stunning poems recited throughout.

📸 Tiernans will also be showcasing some of my Grandfathers (Jimmy Cooney) photos.
Jimmy, who owned and ran from the late 1940’s - 1982 was a keen photographer all his life and took photographers of an amazing number of local communions, confirmations, weddings and various other occasions in the parish.
As part of this year’s Siamsa Glas Festival Tiernans will be displaying a selection of these photographs on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th.

To close the Siamsa Glas Festival Tiernans will host the Pub Drama ‘Way Back Home’ by Anthony O’ Boyle at 6:30pm

Using Leah’s Essential Oils is a wonderful and natural alternative for cleaning your home while making it smell great.

Here are some of my simple tips to help incorporate them.

✨For Scent & Ambiance:
Use your Diffuser and your chosen Essential Oil to set the mood.
Something like a Lavender for creating a relaxing and chill vibe or Lemongrass for giving an uplifting and energizing atmosphere.

✨A Natural ‘Febreze’
Use my Lemongrass Essential Oil Mist Spray on curtains, furniture, gym gear or into the air to help erase any nasty smells.

✨Scented Cotton Balls:
Pop a few drops of your chosen Essential Oil on to cotton balls and tuck them into drawers, shoe boxes, closets or the car to keep everything smelling lovely and fresh.

✨Drawer Sachets:
Fill cloth bags with rice and add a few drops of your Essential Oil for a long lasting fresh drawer scent.

✨Bin Freshener:
Pop a few drops of your chosen Essential Oil on to cotton balls and place at the bottom of your bin.

✨Dryer Sheets Alternative:
Pop a few drops of essential oil on a wool dryer ball and toss into the dryer for naturally scented laundry.

✨Floor Cleaner:
Combine 1 bucket of warm water, 1/2 cup of white vinegar and add 10 drops of Peppermint (or Lemon) for a fresh smelling clean floor.

✨Carpet Refresh:
Mix 1 cup of baking soda with 20-30 drops few drops of essential oil (eg Lavender or Lemongrass) sprinkle on carpet, let sit, then hoover.

✨All Purpose Natural Cleaner:
Combine 2 cups of water, 1 cup of white vinegar and 10-15 drops of Lemon or Lemongrass Essential Oils for a natural cleaning spray.

These are just a few ideas for an easy and natural way of cleaning your home using Essential Oils.
Have fun and experiment with different oils and different combinations to find out what feels and works best for you.

My Essential Oil Bereavement Candle turns 3 today!

One of my proudest accomplishments in my career was developing this therapeutic healing candle.

My intention of my Holistic Bereavement Candle was to bring the mind peace in times of sorrow, to bring light in the darkest of days and to comfort in times of disbelief.
I wanted a candle help give strength during the grieving process and bring support to the bereaved. There is no other candle like this, it truly is a very special one.

Over the years I have been so honoured to be have multiple articles within and to share the story of the Grief Candle. To speak on and to have conversations with so many beautiful podcasters to talk about bereavement and the support the therapy candle can bring, a huge thank you to who offered me their platforms to share my story.
Another special mention to that had me speak at the 2023 Women in Business Event which helped bring my small business to a whole new audience. I will always be so grateful.

So what is the Bereavement Candle?
My Bereavement candle is made from Marjoram Essential Oil.
Marjoram has been recorded as far back as Ancient Egypt where the Egyptians would use Marjoram Oil in their rituals after a death had occurred.

Marjoram Essential Oil is famed for its natural healing properties, helping ease emotions especially in times of immense stress and grief. It’s deeply soothing and comforting, helping to calm an anxious, worried, and distressed mind.

With your Bereavement Candle you will also receive:
A Sympathy Card if you wished to gift the candle in sharing your condolences.
On the back of this sympathy card there a beautiful poem by George MacDonald ‘Walking With Grief’.
You will also receive an Information Card explaining the Holistic benefits of Marjoram Essential Oil, which is used within the candle.

Flies are more than just a nuisance; they’re a persistent problem in many households but did you know that use Leah’s Essential Oils as a natural insect repellent.
Compared to conventional fly sprays, which often contain many chemicals, Leah’s Essential Oils offer a safer and more natural alternative to use.
 
But how can an Essential Oil deter flies from my household?
The potent scents of essential oils disrupt the olfactory senses of flies, confusing them and deterring their approach. 

What Leah’s Essential Oils keep Flies Away?

Lavender:
Lavender is well-known for its soothing properties, but it also proves to be a strong adversary against flies. Its sweet aroma, which humans find pleasant, serves as a deterrent for flies.
 
Peppermint:
Not only does Peppermint have a refreshing scent, but it’s also highly effective against flies. Its strong menthol smell is unappealing to these pests.

Lemongrass:
Lemongrass, with its strong citrus scent, is a natural and potent repellent for flies. It contains citraland geraniol, both of which are known to repel insects.
 
How Yo Use Them:
Diffuser:
Add 10-15 drops of your chosen Essential Oil to 100ml of water in a diffuser.
 
Burner:
Burners: Place 3-5 drops of the oil together with some water into the top of an oil burner. Light the candle at the base of the burner.
 
Mist Spray: check out my Essential Oil Mist Sprays on my website. Lemongrass, Lavender or Rosemary & Peppermint Mist Sprays will help keep those nasty pests away.
Top Tip: Spray around window and door frames to prevent insects entering your home.
 
🌍Using Essential Oils as fly repellents is not only safe for humans and pets but also better for the environment as they don’t contribute to pollution.
So not only will your house smell fresh and fabulous but you can be confident knowing you’re doing your bit for the environment and saving so many lives of our little insect pals - everybody wins!

My Candle for every Student.

On June 4th approximately 136,000 Leaving Cert students and Junior Cert students will be taking their exams.

There will be long hours clocked up over the next few weeks in revising for these state exams.

I know this time of year can bring a lot of worry, anxieties and sleepless nights for so many young people (and on their families!)

The Rosemary & Peppermint candle was made for students.
