Such a sad time for the people of Letterkenny and Ballybofey . They all remain in our thoughts and prayers .

Today marks the 40th anniversary of a tragedy that remains deeply etched in the heart of our community.
On April 26th, 1986, Letterkenny was struck by an unthinkable loss when four young children - Sharon (14), Joanne (12), Adrian (4), and Kevin (18 months) - lost their lives in a house fire in Ard O’Donnell, along with their babysitter, Noreen O’Donnell (25), from Ballybofey.
We keep in our thoughts today, Angela and Joe O’Donnell and their children: Philip, Patrick and Joe Joe, all pupils of Scoil Cholmcille at the time; and their sister Noreen, born after the tragedy, who later worked here at Scoil Cholmcille.
We remember Noreen and her family in Ballybofey, and the enduring grief they have carried over the years.
It was a profoundly sad time for Letterkenny, one that touched every corner of the town and left a lasting mark on all who lived through it.
Today, we pause to remember, to reflect, and to honour the lives lost too soon.
May they never be forgotten.
