UPDATED…
Measles outbreaks are increasing accross Europe. Ireland recently saw its first death this year from measles.

Measles is a very serious condition and is highly contagious (up to 18 infections from one person).

MMR vaccine is safe and is available here at the surgery for anyone born after 1978 who has not had two doses of MMR.

Vaccine 1 is usually given at 12 months and vaccine 2 is given from age 4.

Please schedule an appointment on 0749167000 or register your interest at info@lkdocs.ie.

The WHO target is vaccine coverage of over 95% of the eligible population. If you are unsure of your status and you are above 10 years of age, the HSE may be able to offer a catch up programme.

Measles is a highly infectious viral illness. It can be unpleasant and sometimes lead to serious complications.
