The programme of events has finally landed and we couldnโ€™t be prouder to be on board with Laurence Garric and the team at the Limerick Quimper Tree Festival. โœจ Yesterday morning, we proudly kicked off the Limerick Quimper Tree Festival with the planting of a beautiful Silver Birch Tree in our Wellness Garden at Serosep HQ in Annacotty. ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒž

Our very own Dermot Scanlon put his green fingers to good use, taking on the honour of planting the tree and was joined by event organiser Laurence Garric of Garric Collaborative Solutions. This tree planting marks the start of a whole month of cultural and community events happening across Limerick this October. As the main sponsors, we are excited to support this festival and are delighted to be helping bring people together while keeping sustainability and community spirit at the heart of it all.

Over the course of a powerful week of fundraising and awareness, the Serosep team came together to support Breast Cancer Ireland, raising an incredible โ‚ฌ1,620 in the process.

Yesterday, our UK colleagues came together for their annual summer gathering. The day began with a productive morning meeting in the beautiful city of London where the team got a valuable opportunity to spend time together in person and catch up on recent developments. This was followed by an afternoon of team-building activities with plenty of good food and fun along the way!

As our team is spread geographically around the UK and Ireland, these gatherings are especially important for bringing colleagues together and strengthening relationships beyond the day-to-day work.

Three years ago, Catherine - a valued member of the Serosep team, attended a breast cancer awareness talk with Juliette O Connell from Breast Cancer Ireland which was organised as part of our programme of events for Wellness Week. She had no idea that one talk would end up saving her life.

That day, Catherine learned how to self-check, what symptoms to look for, and the importance of following up on the Breast Check Screening Programme. Although Catherine was 52 at the time, she had still not been called for her free mammogram. Here is Catherines storyโ€ฆ.

โ€œJuliette suggested that anyone over 50 who hadnโ€™t been called for a mammogram should register with Breastcheck.ie and put yourself on their radar. When I went home I did just that. That talk made me more aware of breast cancer. This talk was in June/July of 2022. I got an appointment for a mammogram in January of 2023 and several mammograms and biopsies later I was diagnosed with stage 1 triple negative breast cancer. The doctors told me I was very lucky it was diagnosed so early because the lump was so deep, there was no way I would have found it by myself. I believe that as a result of this talk, I was diagnosed early with breast cancer. I had surgery and then preventative treatment and spent 9 months off work. Thanks to Serosep organising this talk for staff I was diagnosed at a very early stage. In February 2024 I got the all clear but will now have a mammogram every year for the foreseeable.โ€

We are so grateful to have Catherine with us to tell her story. Her strength truly is inspiring! Catherineโ€™s story reminds us why we continue to show up, organise, and invest in these talks year after year. Because even if just one person listens, and takes action because of it, it can save a life. This week, Serosep is proud to host Wellness Week once again. Among the many activities are talks and activities focused on both female and male health, along with financial & mental wellness, fitness and nutrition.

The message from this story is clear, for both employers and employees alike - please book the talks, encourage your employees to attend, make the time to check in with yourself, listen to your body and NEVER underestimate the power of one talk.

Raising Dough for a Sweet Cause ๐Ÿฐ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’ฐ

Last week we turned up the heat for a great cause with our bake sale fundraiser in aid of the Children's Health Foundation.

Serosep gave a donation for everyone who baked, and then the team donated to have a taste! It is safe to say bake sale day always goes down a treat - it was a delicious success and together we raised a mouth-watering โ‚ฌ528!

๐ŸŽ—๏ธ Wear Blue to Work Day at Serosep! ๐Ÿ’™

Yesterday, our employees turned the workplace a brilliant shade of blue as we proudly took part in Wear Blue to Work Day in support of the Make-A-Wish Ireland.

For every employee who wore blue, Serosep donated on their behalf, and we are delighted to share that together, we raised โ‚ฌ400 to help grant wishes for children living with critical illnesses.

A huge thank you to all our staff who participated and helped bring a little more magic into the world ๐Ÿ’ซ Hope you all enjoyed your blue themed treats as a thank you for taking part!

Serosep were delighted to welcome some of the U14 Limerick Girls' Gaelic Football Team on-site to receive their brand-new gear bags, proudly sponsored as part of our commitment to supporting local sports. โšฝ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค

Supporting local talent and community sports is at the heart of what we do, and it was fantastic to meet some of the team members in person and hear about their passion for the game! If thereโ€™s one thing weโ€™re sure of, itโ€™s that these talented young athletes will make Limerick proud - both on and off the pitch!
