Darkness into Light Longford Darkness into Light is the annual fundraiser for Pieta.ie Pieta House now has a staff of 80 and the demand for our services hasn’t let up. www.pieta.ie

Pieta House, the centre for the prevention of self-harm or su***de, opened in Lucan, County Dublin in January 2006. Since then, we’ve opened five centres of excellence in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, Mungret, County Limerick, Roscrea, County Tipperary, Tuam, County Galway, Bishopstown, County Cork and most recently Castleisland, County Kerry as well as an outreach centre in Dublin's Finglas. In 2012, m

ore than 3,000 people came to Pieta House for help and the numbers contacting us are rising all the time. We’re passionate about our work. As 90% of our income comes from fundraising events, we rely heavily on the support and encouragement of our volunteers and the friends of Pieta.

💛Hundreds of people will line the streets of local towns, to raise funds for a su***de and self-harm prevention charity.
💜Five official Darkness Into Light walks will place in the Shannonside region in the early hours of tomorrow morning.
💛Hundreds of people will line the streets of local towns, to raise funds for a su***de and self-harm prevention charity.
💜In 2009, in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, 400 people set off for the first Darkness Into Light walk, to raise funds for Pieta.
💛From small beginnings, the movement has continued to grow - there are now over 800,000 participants every year.
💜The event has raised over 40 million euro.
💛There are over 150 official walks across Ireland this year, starting at 4.15 tomorrow morning.
💜There are four in Co Roscommon - in Boyle, Castlerea, Roscommon town and Strokestown - and one in Longford town.
💛There's no official walk in Co Leitrim.
💜If you're from just outside the Shannonside region, there are events in Ballinasloe and Glenamaddy.
