Covid Booster Clinics:

We are holding a covid booster clinic on the 13th and 20th May at 12.30 for those at risk groups who wish to avail of the vaccine.

The following Groups are eligible for a Covid-19 Spring Booster;
*Those aged 80+
*Those aged 70-79 who did not receive a Covid-19 since 30th June 2024
*Those in Long Term care facilities for older Adults
*Those aged 6 months and older with Immunocompromise associalted with suboptimal response to vaccination
* Booster recommended once in Pregnancy if it is >6 months since covid-19 vaccine/infection recommended between 20-34 weeks, can get it earlier if it's been >12 months since previous Covid-19/infection

A reminder that the number of Influenza cases currently remains high in the community and hospital settings.

Our walk in flu/covid vaccine remains open 12-1 and 4-5 each day.

32 patients are awaiting a bed at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe today, while the figure has reached 73 at University Hospital Galway.
