And...it's a wrap...nearly.
The CUMH homebirth team is ( almost ) fully integrated after our three day cerner training with the lovely Dee 💻.
We keep our self employed status( independence ) but are soon able to input our own visits and data into the system.
💻 Is there still a huge questionmark over the fact that the service USER is not able to access their own data? Absolutely!!
💻 Is it highlighting the fact that many areas in Cork don't even have phone reception, let alone internet? Totally!
💻 Does it mean it's doubling our workload? You bet!
But for us, it is a further step to try and change the system from within.
🐣 We are the only service providing continuity of CARER!
🐣 You are with your chosen midwife from pregnancy, throughout labour, birth and 2 weeks after
🐣 We have a 97% breastfeeding rate
🐣 We let you choose who is present at your birth
🐣 We visit you in your own home
🐣 We provide ante natal preparation and parenting classes
🐣 And so much more
Maybe some people thought we wouldn't be up for the challenge of the new, shiny computerized world but let me reassure them...we are SO ready and will make it our own! 🐣🐣🐣
