Leaving summer behind and starting new projects, school, college etc. or simply leaving behind the carefree days of summer can feel a bit daunting.

With anxiety we tend to overestimate the dangers of the future and underestimate our ability to cope. Worry and concern are normal emotions that we need to have in order to be motivated. The problems arise when we set ourselves the impossible task of controlling the future as a way of managing our worries and anxiety.

I am not big on new year's resolutions. I think January can be hard enough already.
However I am always interested in making life easier on ourselves, one gift you can give yourself this January is the realisation that you are not responsible for other people's happiness.
You are responsible for yourself and your actions but you can't be responsible for someone else's emotions.
