Yesterday, we bid a fond farewell to our GP, Dr Fiona McCudden, who is furthering her studies at Trinity College this year. We wish her every success and know she will be hugely missed. It has been our privilege to work alongside her.

RSV:
From September 1st, New born babies will receive the RSV vaccine. Babies born from March 1st 2025 to August 31st 2025 are entitled to book via the HSE portal for a catch-up vaccine. Please follow the link for further details and of how and when you can book. The online booking portal will go live on August 25th.

A national sleep study is being completed by a research team in Trinity College Dublin (Schools of Medicine and Psychology). There is no data on sleep patterns in primary school-aged children in Ireland, yet we know that sleep can have a detrimental impact on the mental and physical health of the child and family functioning.

The research team are currently recruiting a parental survey of children's sleep which includes a standardised sleep measure. A large response rate is essential to how the survey can inform service and policy development. The study has ethics approval from Trinity College Dublin.

Repeat Prescriptions

Please request your repeat prescription through our Patient Portal or the Chatbot on our Website https://www.malahidefamilypractice.com/prescriptions
We require a minimum of 3 working days notice to process a prescription request outside of a consultation. Please offer us as much notice as you can to ensure that you don’t run out of medication. A charge of €20 applies for all private prescriptions without a consultation. We endeavour to give priority to prescription requests for urgent antibiotics or hospital prescribed medications. Where necessary patients may be requested to attend their GP when medication or a condition needs to be reviewed. In such instances the prescription will be deferred until this consultation has taken place.
