It's that time of year. I'm creating this year's version of my Ceramic Pumpkins. If you've seen them in person you will know that they each have their own creepy cute personalities. They should be available in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out for them.

New textured mugs are available for the first time on Saturday at the Belfast Potters market and on Sunday at the Kilkenny Potters market. I love the contrast of my colourful glazes with the textured outside of the mug. They look like they are carved from the earth, which I suppose they are. Hopefully see you at one of the potters markets this weekend.

Hopefully I will have these experimental mugs ready for the Belfast and Kilkenny Potter's Markets. They will have my beautiful glaze on the inside and top which hopefully will be a lovely contrast to the textured wild clay decoration. They remind me of tree bark, what do you think?

This might be an exercise in madness but I'm trying out a textured surface on my travel mugs. The top must be precisely thrown so the silicone lid fits after the clay shrinks in the firings. I like the tree trunk look of them. They are each different as the last bit of throwing can only be done from the inside to create the texture. I'll keep you updated as to how they come out.
