We often think of blood pressure support in terms of medication, diet, and exercise, and rightly so. But this study looked at something a little different: foot reflexology as an add-on.

In a randomized clinical trial led by Kotruchin et al., adults with stage 2 hypertension received a short, targeted reflexology treatment alongside their usual care.

What they found?
👉 A measurable reduction in blood pressure
👉 A decrease in heart rate
👉 Effects seen within just 30 minutes

This wasn’t a replacement for medical treatment, but it does point to reflexology as a useful complementary approach in managing hypertension.

It’s a reminder that small, non-invasive interventions can still have meaningful physiological effects.

The early months with a baby are full of learning. Reading cues, finding rhythms, and figuring out what helps your baby feel safe, calm, and settled. Baby reflexology is not about fixing or treating anything, but about gentle, responsive touch and connection.

Simple reflexology techniques can be used as part of everyday routines to support comfort, relaxation, and bonding. Through calm, attentive touch, babies may begin to associate these moments with safety and reassurance, which can help them settle more easily and relax into rest.

Many parents find that baby reflexology also helps them slow down, tune in, and feel more confident responding to their baby’s signals. These shared moments of connection can support emotional closeness and create a sense of calm for both parent and baby during a time that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

When practiced gently and responsively, baby reflexology can be a nurturing way to support wellbeing in the early months, alongside routine postnatal and infant care. 👶👣

Menopause is a natural transition, but it can come with a mix of symptoms that catch many women off guard. Changes in hormone levels can affect everything from sleep and energy to mood, stress levels and overall wellbeing.

Reflexology is often used as a gentle, supportive therapy during this time. By working specific reflex points on the feet linked to the body’s systems (including the endocrine and nervous systems), it may help encourage balance and support the body as it adjusts.

Research has shown that reflexology may help to:
• reduce perceived stress and support regulation of the nervous system
• improve sleep quality and promote deeper relaxation
• ease symptoms such as hot flushes, fatigue, and mood fluctuations
• support emotional wellbeing by creating space for rest and reset

While reflexology doesn’t treat or replace medical care, it can be a valuable complementary therapy, helping women feel more supported, grounded, and in tune with their bodies during menopause.

Because this phase isn’t about decline. It’s about transition. And having the right support can make all the difference.

You know the strange thing about the body?

It’s been there for everything.

Every stressful season.
Every time you had to keep going when you were already exhausted.
Every moment you held things together because there wasn’t really another option.

The body carries more of our story than we realise.

Not because it’s trying to punish us, but because it was there through it all.

And sometimes when we finally slow down enough to notice the tension, the tiredness, the heaviness we’ve been ignoring… it can feel a little like the body gently saying, “That was a lot.”

The comforting thing is that the body is incredibly forgiving.

It doesn’t need perfection.
Often it just needs a moment of care.

Almost like saying,
“I know I’ve asked a lot of you. Thank you for carrying me this far.”

And more often than not, the body softens when it hears that.

Your lymphatic system plays a key role in fluid balance and waste removal, helping the body feel lighter and more comfortable. When lymph flow becomes sluggish - often linked to stress, reduced movement, or warmer weather - puffiness or swelling in the feet and lower legs can occur.

Reflexology works with specific lymphatic reflex points on the feet, using gentle, intentional techniques to encourage the natural movement of lymph.

Reflexology may help to:
• support healthy lymphatic circulation
• assist the body’s natural detox processes
• reduce fluid retention and swelling
• promote a sense of lightness and balance

A calm, supportive approach that works with the body, not against it. Book in and see for yourself.

Next set of baby reflexology classes for parents and caregivers starts Tues 24th Feb for 3 weeks. Baby reflexology is a gentle, soothing touch technique where specific areas of a baby’s feet are lightly massaged and pressed to give relief to related parts of the body. The idea comes from reflexology, which maps different parts of the body to points on the feet.

For babies, it’s very soft and simple—no deep pressure. Most babies love it and respond really well to it.
