Since 2013, Reset Fitness has helped 1017 busy Cork men and women to lose weight, boost their energy levels, increase their confidence and reduce their stress levels. One of the most common questions we get is:

“How do I know if I’m training hard enough, or too hard?"

We keep it simple with 3 clear guidelines that are easy to understand……..

✅ No wobbling or losing control of the exercise or weight
✅ No pain during movements
✅ Hit your target reps (eg. 6-8 reps)

If all three are ticked off, you’re free to push as much as you like.

If you're struggling with any of these, take a step back- less weight, work on your technique, etc.

This approach keeps your training safe, effective, and very flexible.

Some days you’ll feel strong and ready to go harder 💪

Other days, scaling back is the smart move because energy is low, stress is high, or you're body's feeling a little fragile. 😕

Either way, progress keeps building because you're consistent exercising

It’s simple, easy for clients to understand, and gives you confidence that every session is moving you forward while keeping you healthy in the process.

Many people wait for the “perfect time” to start improving their health.

The problem is that perfect moment rarely comes.

Work, family, and life commitments/challenges always feel like they’re in the way of you getting started- once they pass, you'll be all in!!!!

Weeks turn into months, and your health keeps sliding down your priority list.

That cycle makes it harder to move, harder to feel good, and harder to break out of old habits and get into a consistent routine ❌

One of our clients decided not to wait. even though things weren’t ideal.

The truth is, the biggest health benefits come from nailing the basics.

People struggle because their not on top of the basics, not because they're missing out on advanced strategies reserved for the elite ❌

Between now and the end of the year, you could massively improve your energy, fitness, and quality of life by committing to a handful of basic, proven habits.

Depending on your current situation, you might pick 1, 2 or all of them.

The key is to only pick what you can sustain.

✅ Drink 2 litres of water daily
✅ Strength train twice a week
✅ Get 7–8 hours of sleep before midnight
✅ Hit 7,000+ steps a day
✅ Eat 3 portions of veg and 1–2 pieces of fruit daily
✅ Include 1–2 palm-sized servings of protein with each meal
✅ Cut back on destructive habits such as smoking and excess alcohol

You’ve heard the phrase “enjoy the process.” 💡

When it comes to improving your health and fitness, the process is most of the journey 🏋️‍♀️

Weight lost, strength gained, or the way your clothes fit are milestones that you can measure your progress by, but most of your time is spent in the "doing".

Enjoying the process doesn’t mean feeling full of energy every workout.

It means showing up, finding value in the work, and knowing it matters to you and that there's a life changing pay-off on the other side of it.

Training with people on a similar path makes this easier, builds camaraderie, shared effort, and a sense of community 🤝

A good coach guides you, keeps you focused, challenges you when needed, and reminds you why you started- because it's easy to forget when you hit a bad patch..

Want more energy, better health, and a leaner physique so you look and feel great…….

We teach our clients a very simple nutrition plan:

- 3 meals a day
- 1 optional snack

Within this, we want them to commit like crazy to The Core 4

4 easy to understand habits that'll:

- fuel your body
- keep you fuller for longer
- improve your health
- support your fitness goals without overcomplicating things

The Core 4:

✅ Protein: 1–2 palm-sized portions in every meal
✅ Veggies: 3 fist-sized servings each day
✅ Fruit: 1–2 pieces a day (one can be your snack)
✅ Water: 2 litres daily

The secret?

Build these habits gradually depending o your starting point

Trying to go all-in from day one is the fastest way to burn out if you're currently nowhere near these targets.

Start small, progress week by week and before long you won't even have to think about them- they'll be second nature.
