Hi All,
Just to update you on how we are managing the current situation regarding Covid 19. There is an onus on all of us to protect those in society who may be more vulnerable as well as slow the rate of spread to allow our health service deal with the pandemic. In this regard we are constituently evaluating how best to serve out patients.
The goal is to reduce the potential risks of virus transmission. In order to achieve we are available for video appointments (skype or WhatsApp) free of charge. These consultations are provided to assess the need for further treatments and also if possible provide home care or exercise advice to help deal with the problem. Simply ring 087 2740234 as normal and a time for a video consultation will be arranged.
Where treatment or therapy is deemed necessary we will arrange an appointment for those that wish to attend or will organise a house call if preferred. The decision on proceeding with an appointment will be based on the nature of the problem as well as factors including, patient risk group, underlying medical conditions, and exposure risk for the patient and their direct contacts.
In practical terms you will notice the following changes:
Patients will be asking a number of screening questions relevant to Covid 19.
Hand sanitiser to be used by the patient before and after treatment.
The therapist will be using Hand sanitiser, surgical gloves and masks during consultations.
Surgical gloves will be available for patients use if required on arrival at the clinic.
Time between patients has been lengthened for two reasons. The first is allow full cleaning and disinfection of treatment areas between patients and the second is to reduce the possible interactions between patients coming and going from appointments.
This is a rapidly changing situation and we are keeping abreast of all the recommendations of the HSE, WHO and our governing body when it comes to infection control measures and will update you should any changes occur. It is our collective responsibility to mitigate against the spread of the virus in all aspects of our life’s and we ask that people follow the guidelines issued by the HSE
