Yoga is the only science that does not teach one to compete. It is through competition that we create an inner dialogue of conflict. The ‘me vs you’ which rules our inner mind, causes self-alienation, making us see a hostile world. Tantra yoga is practised with eyes closed or wearing an eye mask. This removes the temptation to ‘compete’ and stimulates our ‘intuitive awareness’ to guide us into our postures. This yoga is therefore for all levels of ability. Your breath + the dialogue guides you into the postures and as you learn to listen to your body and flow into 'your' postures, you will experience a yoga class like no other. In May of this year (2016) I completed a course of studies in Healing Techniques that concentrate on aligning the body and healing through meditation, massage and movement. These techniques deal with structural imbalances of the Musculo-Skeletal System that cause pain and discomfort. When the body is in alignment it has an amazing capacity to heal itself and whether you have a sports related injury a medical condition or just a general feeling of dis-ease, these healing techniques have worked where other treatments have failed. So if you have a nagging back, frozen shoulder or a pain that just won’t go away, give it a go.
