Acknowledgement / Months Mind – The Late Eamon Harvey, Drimark, Donegal Town.
The wife and family of the late Eamon Harvey, Drimark, Donegal Town, would
like to express our heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to everyone who
sympathised with us on the recent and very sad loss of Eamon, a devoted
husband, father, grandfather and friend. He is deeply missed by his loving wife
Jacqueline, his children Camilla (Shane Quinn), Deirdre (Charles Martin), Michelle (Andrew Gallagher),
Pauric (Patrice Rooney) and Louise; and his eight adored grandchildren, his brother
Colm (Sheila), brother-in-law Martin (Kathleen RIP), sister-in-law Kitty (Jimmy RIP),
nieces, nephews and extended family.
We sincerely thank our family, friends and neighbours and all who sent Mass
cards, sympathy cards and messages, attended the wake and funeral, travelled
long distances or joined online.
A special word of thanks to the Oncology Unit at Letterkenny University
Hospital, Millrow Practice, Donegal Town, the Palliative Care Nurses, Care
Nurses Donegal, and Begley’s Chemist for their wonderful care and kindness.
We are also very grateful to all who donated to the Oncology Unit at
Letterkenny University Hospital in Eamon’s memory.
Our sincere thanks to the many organisations, colleagues and clubs who
attended the funeral and formed guards of honour, including Abbey
Vocational School colleagues past and present, AVS students and teachers, Tír
Chonaill AC, St John Bosco AC past members, South Donegal Harriers past
members, Four Masters GAA Club, Donegal GAA County Board, FCA colleagues,
Donegal and Ulster Schools Athletics, Donegal Sports Partnership, Ulster
Athletics, Athletics Ireland, and Olympics and Paralympics Ireland.
We thank An Garda Síochána, Donegal Town, especially Superintendent David
Kelly, Sergeant Ollie Devenney and Garda James Connolly, for the respectful
organisation of the funeral cortege from Eamon’s home through Donegal Town
to Clar Graveyard.
Our gratitude also to Fr. Charlie Byrne, Fr Paddy Dunne, Fr. Adrian Gavigan, Fr. James
Gillespie, Fr Pearce Mullen and Fr. James Sweeney for the beautiful Funeral Mass, Zara
Montgomery and Richard Mc Carthy for the lovely music, Gallagher’s Funeral
Directors and gravediggers for their professionalism and care, and to all the
local businesses who kindly provided food and support.
As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this
acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Eamon’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 12th April 2026 at 11.30am in St Patrick’s Church, Donegal Town.
