This is my beautiful friend Merce (and previous homebirther of mine!) who for the last 10years has been donating her birthing pool free to clients in the kilkenny area but it has also been to Cork and Cavan!!

The pool has now retired as it is tired. 😔

But I want to acknowledge the effort that Merce has put in in supporting homebirth in Ireland 🇮🇪

💐 Happy Mothers Day all 💐 wishing all different types of Mothers a very happy Mother's day💕💕 esp my own Mothers and families 🥰💕whom I have had the pleasure of working with for the last 12 years as a self employed HSE homebirth community midwife.

I have learned so much myself from you all and i have witnessed the tenacity, strength💪 of you mothers through the challenges and joys of early Motherhood.. sacrificing your own needs for the well being of your loved ones.. to me Mothers day is every day💕💕

Mothers play an invaluable role in society ...shaping the future generation, teaching your children to love, building emotional bonds and strong constitutional health, nurturing potential; instilling values and fostering a sense of compassion and empathy in society.
Some would even argue its a thankless job! That maybe so but I feel the key is finding fulfilment in the small victories and knowing the longterm value of the work you do🙏🏾🙏🏾 💪 💪

So enjoy today, the hugs, the laughs giggles n cries and cuddle up to who is important in your life today. You are all amazing abd may you all be spoiled today 🥰🥰🥰💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕

Wishing you all a happy Hypnobirthing birthing day today March 21st! I know it might be a funny name but I have been teaching that and Mindfulness Birth Preparation for many years now...and I love teaching it because I know it works!

Hypnobirthing is all about changing the way you think about birth...for the better. Getting rid of limiting thoughts, fears and anxieties. And quite honestly we need to de- hypnotise ourselves away from the fear that is being projected on birthing momas in society and culture today...such a disservice to women. Hypnobirthing brings more awareness of what fear and tension does to our bodies.

Education is key.

Mindset is important as it shapes our entire birth experience. Your perception of birth shapes your reality of it. Understanding your mind to keep it calm and confident and open to the possibilities ✨️ its a process... so keeping your energy for the important stuff your body is doing. ..and your body is indeed working so very hard for you. Along with effective communication, breathwork, visualisation techniques and effective partner support its a winning formula.

So let's celebrate the celebration of birth today 💕💕💞💞💓💓 let's celebrate Hypnobirthing 🥳 for all the help and support it has given to 👪 to date.

Popped in for a coffee today in the foyer of St Lukes hospital kilkenny to celebrate and say hello and express gratitude to all those pp herel that continue to support breastfeeding mothers everyday both in the hospital and and in the community and and to all the other supports out there , PHN groups, friends of breastfeeding...etc
Truly phenomenal work and I salute you all 💕💕✨️

it is true our breastfeeding rates are rising 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙌🙌

It truly takes a village to support a breastfeeding moma!

A big shout out to ..unfortunately unable to be in Cork at the conference , due to being on call but certainly keeping an 👀 on their IG.
