My name is Selene I have practiced yoga on and off for many years but developed a daily practiced over 6 years ago. My biggest adventure took me to India to practice with Saraswati Jois, the Ashtanga yoga master whose father established the Ashtanga system. Yoga has brought a sense of calmness and strength to my life which is why I practice and teach it. Please read on to see if it's for you.....

Class Description
All of the classes are fun and suitable for everyone to join in, please read below to find out which one is most suitable for you now, or give me a call on 087 7988726. Chair Yoga Weds 11am
This is a very relaxed class with a little chat at the beginning followed by a breathing exercise, a gounding meditation and then some gentle yoga either seated or standing. We finish with a yoga nidra, which is a relaxing meditation and also a balancing breathing exercise. The class is community donation based, which means that you pay what you can making it available to all. Ashtanga 60 & 90 mins class Tues 6:30pm Ashtanga yoga is a set sequence of movements and is taught class by class, each person moving through the practice at his or her own pace and level with guidance from the teacher. Generally beginners have a 60 min class and improvers 90 mins. Once a month we have a led class where the sequence is called out and everyone moves at the same pace. Yin yoga with mindfulness by candlelight Weds 6:30pm No effort is required for this style of yoga just relaxation, it is essential that you wear your most comfortable, warm, cosy clothes. It starts with a short meditation and then 4 or 5 poses either seated or lying down.

Yoga teaches you how to pause before you absorb it all. Through breath and awareness, you learn to slow down your reactions and notice what truly deserves your energy.

On the mat, you practice focus. You tune into your body. You observe your thoughts without immediately believing them. Over time, that awareness carries into daily life — helping you filter information instead of being overwhelmed by it.

Early morning yoga isn’t just a workout — it’s a reset. Before the emails, the meetings, and the noise of the day, you get one full hour just for you. Breathe deeper. Move with intention. Feel stronger.

Starting your day on the mat boosts your energy, clears your mind, and sets a calm, focused tone that carries you through everything.

Yoga builds strength in ways that go far beyond lifting weights. While it may look slow and gentle, yoga challenges your muscles, balance, and endurance using your own body weight as resistance.

Holding poses strengthens your arms, legs, core, and back simultaneously. Over time, this improves muscle tone, stability, and overall functional strength — the kind you use in everyday movements.

Chair yoga is good for your heart health. Why? Because we slow our nervous system down through mindful breathing and meditation. We move our body in a mindful way, allow it to unwind and strengthen with ease. Mostly we feel so good at the end of the class which l think is the most beneficial aspect for our heart ❤️

Yoga works because it brings everything back into balance.
Movement strengthens the body, breath calms the nervous system, and awareness quiets the mind.
All of these aspects help to reduce stress, which reduces inflammation which reduces stress!!!!
It's a win win really 🥰🥰

Not only does Yin yoga help your muscles to let go, it helps your mind too. Thoughts, emotions are held with kindness and gently let go. Through mindfulness and connection to our breath and body we allow sensations, thoughts to pass through us. Coming away from class lighter and a bit more flexible,, not only in the body.

A beautiful review by the beautiful Niamh ###
Chair Yoga as with all of my yoga classes, is so much more than what you see in social media. We hold so much tension in our bodies from normal everyday life, never mind the years of tension built up. Meditation breathwork, mindfulness, all of it is just as important as the physical movement side of yoga. It all helps to release and let go. 💕
Come try a class, Tuesdays at 11am, Glencrow Hall, and see the difference an hour can make.

Ashtanga yoga is a flowing, breath-led practice that begins with meditation and breathwork to help you settle and focus.
You then move through a set sequence of poses, with plenty of encouragement to go at your own pace and listen to your body.
Steady, supportive, and deeply grounding, this practice is for you, it is modified to suit you. No expectations, simply encouragement to do what is right for you.
