We mistake the thoughts that we have, the constant stream, as being out reality. When in fact it is just the functioning of the mind. Just as the heart beats, lungs breathe, blood circulates, the mind thinks. It's necessary to keep us alive but it is not who we truly are. In yoga we practice coming away from this constant stream of thinking, we practice coming home to our body, the good and the bad. We spend time with it, getting to know it, appreciating it, relaxing it. We see our thoughts for what they are, ruminations, and from a steady, grounded place we move through life. Making decisions that are more true to us.
