A lovely way to mark the end of our 15 week Reel Strength online programme πŸ™Œ
Huge shout out to all of the dancers who I had the absolute pleasure of coaching & mentoring these past few months - it was a very different type of Summer, but we made the most of it, reminding ourselves to 'Control the Controllables' - we adapted a positive attitude right from day 1 & set to work πŸ‘Š

Single Leg Exercises πŸ™Œ
Sharing four of my favourite single leg exercises that I often incorporate in early phases of my strength programming for Irish Dancers πŸ’ͺ
Not only are these movements excellent at identifying & correcting strength imbalances you might have, they also play a key role in developing stability, balance & overall athleticism πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ”ΉοΈ Single Leg RDL
πŸ”ΉοΈ Bulgarian Squats
πŸ”ΉοΈ Box Step-Ups
As I mentioned I would generally incorporate these movements in early phases of my Reel Strength programme & would generally work between 8 - 12 rep range πŸ’ͺ

Press Up's πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ
Gyms are closed & it's almost impossible to get our hands on home equipment... So for a lot of us, it's body weight workouts for a while πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
Body weight training can be super beneficial, when performed correctly!!! One movement we often see performed poorly are - Press-Ups πŸ™Œ

Usually when I'm working with my dancers, we have a very clear goal, with a very specific timeline ⏳
As a coach this makes my job nice & straight-forward - structure our programme so that you will peak for the specific event πŸ’ͺ
At the moment, we are in limbo - we don't know exactly when our next championship is going to be, we don't an exact timeline/goal we are working towards.... My advice?
Use this time to get as fit & as strong as you possibly can over the next few months, so when we are back in full competitive mode, you are primed & ready to hit the ground running πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ
Very excited to be putting the finishing touches on an online programme which will help you do just that πŸ™Œ

Now that we are back to school, it's time to get up & running with our new term πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ
The term will run for 9 weeks & we have a few options available:
* 2 classes per week (Wednesday 4pm & Sat) & weekly home workout
* 1 class per week (Saturday 11am or 12pm) & weekly home workout
Spaces are limited to 10 dancers per class. Priority will be given to those signing up for the full term - if there are spaces remaining in any of the classes, I will open them out to PAYG but only to dancers who are available for a minimum of 7 out of the 9 weeks - consistency is key πŸ™Œ

I love incorporating elements of olympic weightlifting into my programming for Irish Dancers πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ Widely regarded as some of the best training methods to develop strength, power & speed - exactly what Irish Dancers want to be targeting in their gym training πŸ’ͺ

After what was a fantastically busy Summer - September is almost here & instead of a reminder that its time to get back to classes, i want to take the time to give a big shout out to my fabulous Reel Strength dancers who have worked hard in the gym all Summer long πŸ’ͺ
My aim has never been to have a certain number of dancers signed up to our programmes.... I simply love working with hard working & dedicated dancers πŸ™Œ

20 years ago I won my first CLRG Leinster Championship & I remember it like it was yesterday - an incredibly proud day for everyone who had worked so hard to help get me there πŸ™Œ
Nowadays, I love having the chance to see other dancers experience that same feeling of pride, joy & excitement - realising what can be achieved with hard work & dedication πŸ’ͺ
I often wish I knew then what I know now in relation to athletic performance but alas, I can't turn back time.....
BUT I can use my experience as a coach & dancer to help dancers reach their goals 😊
