Hi all,
As most of you will be well aware, we lost a valued member and friend during the Covid pandemic.
Adjutant Joe Donoghue passed away on the 28th of February 2021. Due to the restrictions in place at the time, a lot of people never got to pay their respects.
So on Saturday the 28th of February, we are going to have a remembrance evening to celebrate Joe's life and to honor his local, regional and national work within the Order of Malta Ireland. And also remember his time served with the Irish Defence Forces based out of Collins Barracks, Dublin
We will aim to meet at the gates of St Finian’s College at 16:00 and march to his resting place in Ballyglass Cemetery. The intention is to lay wreaths and have a moment to remember Joe.
This will be followed by refreshments in the Annebrook House Hotel from 17:00 onwards.
We will be joined on the day by the Midlands Northeastern Regional Director, Comdt. Damian Leech, chaplain to the Ulster Region, Fr Stephen Brian Wilson, Officer in Charge of the Mullingar Unit, Adjutant Colin Watters.
We are hoping that Fr Paul F. Murphy, Chaplain to the Defence Forces can also to be in attendance.
We hope to not only see our own members, both current and former, but also members from other Units, with whom Joe shared a deep connection.
**Please feel free to share this with anyone who may like to attend**
