• Over 1,000 pounds of Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulphate) are dissolved into a pool with water that is maintained at human skin temperature. This super-saturated Epsom Salt solution creates a hyper buoyant environment where users naturally float on the surface without any effort. Floatation Therapy is a unique and powerful tool that is highly effective at combating chronic stress and its associated

conditions. Floating is also highly enjoyable and creates profound experiences of relaxation and wellbeing. Floating combines the sensation of weightlessness with an experience known technically as Restricted Environment Stimulation Therapy (REST). The effortless floatation frees the user from the effects of gravity, facilitating a deep relaxation of the body and a state of meditative calm within the mind. From a health perspective, meditation has been shown to reduce blood pressure, calm the nervous system and increase alpha wave patterns in the brain. Recent studies suggest that it dramatically improves the immune system by reducing anxiety, worry and stress. The first flotation tank was developed in 1954 by the American neurophysiologist Professor Dr. John C. Lilly while working at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) in Maryland.USA. In 1982, International REST Investigators Society (IRIS) was founded in order to give the increased number of REST researchers a platform to share their research findings. For several years float tanks were solely used by researchers in university laboratories or by private individuals. In 1983 floating increased in popularity as more became known about it's effects. Dr. Justin Feinstein is leading today's research on Floatation therapy. For more information visit http://www.laureateinstitute.org/justin-feinstein.htmlToday,

Floatation therapy is a rapidly growing trend around the world and here at Slí Beatha Float-House we are delighted to be able to bring our i-sopod float tanks to the Irish public. We are so honored to be facilitating the growth of this profoundly beneficial therapy.

A 2012 study showed the profound benefits of float tanks on pain reduction. 81 volunteers with fibromyalgia were given 3 free float sessions in exchange for feedback on a questionnaire. Across the board, participants reported an immediate drop in pain and an increase in well-being. They also indicated a drop in pain over the course of the three sessions, so that their pain levels when they entered the tank on the second and third sessions were lower than they had been when they entered in the previous sessions. This result speaks to the long-term potential for pain reduction using float therapy.

Regular use or even just a course of 3 sessions can significantly relieve pain and improve mood & general well being 😊

💧Don’t let pain ruin your day – float it away instead.

Joint and muscle pain can make it much harder to go about our life as normal. Twisting the wrong way, sleeping weirdly, or even just taking an odd step can be a real pain in the neck (or back, or hip…), but it doesn’t have to throw off your whole day.
Next time you find yourself feeling temporarily twisted, or unable to turn your head without a little muscle spasm and accompanying squeal, consider scheduling a float for some acute intervention. Giving your body a chance to truly relax and unwind can help put an end to that temporary pain, and give you an opportunity to go about your day as normal.
