Our inner world affects our outer world. And our outer world affects those around us. Is your inner world: calm, anxious, hurried, depressed, happy, anger, sad? What you are telling yourself on the inside you are relaying to the outside whether you are aware of that or not. Anthony de Mello says the "life is a filter reflecting your innermost thoughts." If your inner world is in raging pain, you can more than guarantee that those around you will know in some way or another be impacted by that pain, causing what we call collateral damage.
What is collateral damage? It's an injury inflicted on something other than an intended target.
Either this is a part of your personal story, or you've been a witness to the damage cause by the dad, friend, or colleague who mistreated us. An example that comes to mind is the controlling dad who yelled at the son when he lost the game. Maybe he was never good enough for his dad and therefore all his life has been caught in the battle of never being good enough. Little does he know, he has the same expectation of his son, who know walks around with the question AM I good enough?
Pain that goes unhealed can be passed down through generations. There’s hope for the future legacy of your family. It can start with you! Are you ready to make that change and heal the war within?
