we built our own river plunge cage so you can safely dip in the River Barrow between sauna rounds

The current was too strong and there was no access, so we designed floating pontoons with a steel cage in the middle (yes… shark cage vibes) and added a ladder for easy dips

Ever wondered what it takes to build a sauna?

In August 2020, me and Liam are back in Ireland because of COVID, jobless and bored - so we convinced Liam’s parents to let us build them a sauna: we did the labour and they payed for materials

A few weeks later it’s done… and we realise it’s actually pretty simple

So we say f**k it and build the Hot Box OG horse trailer sauna

Two lads, 8 weeks, hundreds of YouTube tutorials, and a £6k loan later… we we’re ready

But we just need somewhere to put it…

Something new is coming to Bolands Mills.

From 6th March, we’re introducing weekly guided events designed to give you a deeper experience of everything our space has to offer.

These sessions are about more than just heat, they’re a chance to explore the rituals that make sauna culture so powerful. Across these fully guided 2-hour journeys you’ll experience:

✺ Different sauna rituals per event (Aufguss, Pirtis, Saunotus)
✺ Breathwork
✺ Guided Cold plunging
✺ A deeper understanding of how to use the space intentionally

Led by our Sauna Masters, each event is designed so you can test the waters, learn new practices, and experience our space in a more immersive way.

This is something new we’re introducing and we’re excited to begin this journey with you.

First event: 6th March

We went from pumping ice into old tanks to designing Ireland’s first custom refrigerated plunge pools

It wasn’t easy, and we definitely spent more time thinking about chillers than saunas last year, but seeing these pop up across our sites (and now all over Ireland) makes it worth it
