🟠 Coercive control and domestic violence are not always easy to recognise, but the impact is always devastating.
At Men’s Aid Ireland, we know that abuse is not only physical. It can be emotional, financial, sexual, and deeply controlling.

Many don’t realise they are experiencing abuse until the pattern becomes impossible to ignore. These behaviours are designed to isolate, control, and silence.

We are honoured to be featured in the Meath Chronicle

At Men’s Aid Ireland, we are working hard to change this, by providing confidential, non-judgemental support, raising awareness, and ensuring every man knows he does not have to suffer in silence.

Our support group for male victims of domestic abuse and coercive control takes place once a month in and . This safe and confidential space offers understanding, guidance, and support from others who have shared experiences.

Our LGBTQ+ Programme Coordinator travelled to the very South of Ireland to work with the team at the Midleton Hub in Cork this week. Our Education programmes continue to have a national reach having worked in 9 different counties already this year. This morning, our CEO Shane Kelly and Operations Manager Lylia Beloucif. had a powerful and productive meeting with Cllr Eddie Fennessy. We’re incredibly grateful for his time and support as we discussed how to raise awareness about the challenges men face in abusive relationships and how we can work together to ensure no man suffers in silence.

With leaders like Cllr Fennessy stepping up, we’re breaking the stigma, building support, and pushing for change. Together, we’re making Ireland a safer place for men and families who need help.
