Pleased to share our new Position Paper from Home & Community Care Ireland on the need to reform the current Fastest Finger First model used to allocate home support.
The paper highlights how the current system can undermine client choice, create inefficiencies, and contribute to waiting lists. It also outlines a practical alternative through a client-choice model such as Consumer Directed Home Support (CDHS).
As Ireland moves toward a statutory home support scheme and new regulation, reforming the referral system will be essential to deliver person-centred, sustainable care.
