The death has occurred of Nan Gillespie (née Canavan), Gortnaheltia, Glenhest, Newport, and formerly Lahardane, on 12th May, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Pat, parents William and Annie, and brother Tommy.

Nan will be sadly missed by her family, sons Patrick (UK) and Michael (Glenhest), daughter Angela (UK), son-in-law Noel, grandchildren Kieran, Niall and Áine, great-grandchild Fíadh, sisters Bridie Syron (Lahardane) and Mary Duffy (Chicago), brother Paddy (Lahardane), brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Nan will repose in St Dominick’s Funeral Home, Newport, on Thursday evening, 14th May, from 5:30pm to 7pm, with removal to St Joseph’s Church, Glenhest, for 7:45pm.

Requiem Mass for the repose of her soul on Friday afternoon at 2:30pm, with burial immediately afterwards in Annagh Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Martin Corcoran, George’s Street, Newport and formerly Ballina Street, Crossmolina on 9th May 2026 peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.

Predeceased by his loving wife Angela, parents Charles & Josephine, sister Marina, brother Joe and niece Aoife.

Martin will be forever loved and deeply missed by his son Charles, daughters Janet and Helen, daughter-in law Mary and sons-in law Mark and Richard; his grandchildren Katie, Danny, Sean, Alex, Jessica, Lauren, Thomas and Niamh; his brothers Charles (Castleknock), James (Kiltimagh), Paul (Kilconly), Peter (Granard), Gabriel (Dundrum), Paudge (Crossmolina); sisters Josephine (Rathball, Ballina) and Ann (Longford); his nieces, nephews, extended family and wide circle of friends.

Rest in Peace Martin.

Martin will repose at St Dominick’s Funeral Home, Newport (F28 H682), on Tuesday evening 12th May 2026 from 5.30pm-7pm.

Removal from his residence on Wednesday morning at 11.30am to St Patrick’s Church, Newport for Requiem Mass at 12pm. with burial afterwards in Burrishoole Cemetery.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Mickie Walsh (Walsh’s Shoe Shop), Main Street, Newport, Co Mayo who passed away peacefully after a short illness in the wonderful care of the staff at Mayo Roscommon Hospice, Castlebar on the 1st May 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

Pre-deceased by his parents, brother and three sisters.

Mickie will be deeply regretted by his wife Sheila, son Michael (Orla) Sligo, daughters Honor (John) Kilmeena, Linda (Pat), Síobhan (Paddy), Martha Newport, Clara Newcastle UK and his thirteen grandchildren Ríona, Béibhinn, Luke, Seán, Kevin, Eleana, Rónan, Tara, Conor, Lilian, Hannah, Kian, Roisín, his sister in law Rose, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Predeceased by Parents John & Joan Mc Greevy.

Joan will be sadly missed by her loving family sisters Paula (Kevin) Leonard, Maura (Daniel) O’ Donoghue, Fiona (Eamonn) Mahon and her brother John, nieces, nephews,relatives and wide circle of friends all over the world.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Declan Nevin, Mullaun, Newport, Co. Mayo and Nevin’s Bar, Main Street, who passed away peacefully on the 18th March, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents Teresa and Michael; his sister Angela Irwin; his sister-in-law Loyola McHale; his parents-in-law Tom and Patricia McHale; and his precious little boy James.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jo-Ann (née McHale), devoted father to Angela (Ronan), Paul, Michaela (Finn) and Seán (Sophie), and adored Grandad of Conn, MacDara and Aodán.

Deeply mourned by his sisters Geraldine (Bertie), Finola (Tom) and Fidelma (Michael); his brothers Michael (Geraldine), Colm (Paula), Kevin (Denise), Rory (Carmel) and Adrian (Elaine); his aunts Bridget Munnelly, Annie Cannon, Freeda O’Malley, Evelyn McGrath and Annie Moloney; his brothers-in-law Padraig Irwin, Tom McHale (Berniece) and Frank McHale; his nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, extended family, wonderful neighbours and many friends.
