Michelle has looked after numerous sporting teams over the years including Mayo Under 21 GAA Football (2011 & 2012) and Mid Northern Premier and Reserves Rugby teams (New Zealand) as well as her local GAA team in Achill. Michelle was the Senior Chartered Physiotherapist with the Mayo Senior Football team in 2015. MiPhysio is operating from Newport as of 5th January 2015. Today is World Physiotherapy Day!

Lower back pain is a very common complaint treated at MiPhysio. Education is such an important part of my job.

Tomorrow is World Physiotherapy day and this years theme is around Low Back Pain. I see a lot of low back in the clinic and it is an area that I have a particular interest in.

This myth is a common one but we now know that once the acute pain has settled then getting back moving is the key to recovery from low back pain.

Our Story

MiPhysio is owned and run by Michelle McGinty who is qualified Chartered Physiotherapist having graduated from University College Dublin in 2010 with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. Since then Michelle has gained extensive experience in musculoskeletal injuries while working in private practices in both Ireland and New Zealand. Michelle is trained in Pilates as well as Dry Needling and has a keen interest in treating neck/back injuries. Michelle has looked after numerous sporting teams over the years including Mayo Under 21 GAA Football (2011 & 2012), Mid Northern Premier and Reserves Rugby teams (New Zealand) as well as the local GAA team’s of Burrishoole and Achill. Michelle was the Senior Chartered Physiotherapist with the Mayo Senior Football team in 2015. MiPhysio has been operating from Newport since 5th January 2015.
