Anger and TCM.....🔥🔥🔥

Following on from my last post...and the week...well, the month that's in it (astrology reference...iykyk!)...here's how we view Anger through a Chinese Medicine lens.

Lots of things stress out the liver...as the body's Chief General, it manages hormones, digestion, helps metabolise nutrients, regulates blood sugar, filters the toxins, medicine, alcohol and chemicals we absorb from our environment...it works very hard and is an incredibly resilient organ.

In TCM it also is responsible for the free flow of energy, and is very sensitive to excess emotional stress.

A burdened liver TALKS LOUD...muscle pain, headaches, hormonal, digestive issues, eye issues, energy levels...and ofcourse excess anger, frustration and resentment towards others..

Anger is the language of the liver, but we must be careful to channel it effectively...it's a tricky beast this one! When we let it take over unconsciously, the fire can be very destructive...takes real self awareness, humility, slowness and radical self responsibility to befriend the fire and find out what it really needs.

Honouring it is important...flow needs to flow...in a healthy way.

Angry much right now?

No joke...this year was bringing the fire!

So I thought I'd make a few posts about anger...it has a bad rep. But it's a very important energy...if we carefully manage it that is!

Anger in TCM is connected to the liver...a big, powerful signal that acts like a warning light. It alerts our systems to danger...and our nervous system then decides how to respond...fight, freeze...OR act like a grown up and process it properly 🤪

Untamed anger is destructive, suppressed anger is a silent poison, but regulated, constructive anger becomes a force of positive change...

🔥 Untamed...exploding, raging, shouting, violence, dominace, oppression, creates fear, causes war and destruction...toxic fire

🧊 Suppressed...too scared to react, internalised rage, words unsaid, frozen, fawning and placating to keep the peace, helpless...internal fire...

🌱 Regulated - we pause at the trigger, and stay CONSCIOUS. The anger alerted us to danger, be it a breached boundary, risk or threat, but we take the time to properly assess the situation and respond with balance and create positive changes...free flowing Qi ✨️

I see ANGER as a key player in many conditions...and you'll be surprised at the way the body talks to us when anger is part of the TCM pattern (Grind your teeth? Hate windy weather? Clotted periods? Rosacea?....😉)

Let's keep our s**t together before we get ourselves in more trouble 💥

I wanted something real.

Something that actually works with my skin — not against it.

So I went deep. Studied. Tested. Refined.

And created a facial that blends the most powerful techniques for true skin transformation.

🌷Sculpting massage
🪻Microneedling
🌷GuaSha
🪻Facial Cupping
🌷Japanese Facial Reflexology
🪻Lymphatic Drainage
🌷Cosmetic Acupuncture
🪻Red Light LED

This facial not only has instant results - lifting and sculpting the face, restoring glow and balancing complexion — it changes your skin from within… naturally...

Fascia release to restore hydration and release tension, acupuncture to stimulate collagen and restoration, melting of fines lines, lifting and toning the muscles that hold the skin taut...the AcuFacial does all this, and more.

Your face doesn’t need freezing — it needs flow.

🌷AcuFacial - €95
🪻Targeted Cosmetic Acupuncture Add-On €55

Have you ever felt a "knot" in your stomach after a stressful conversation? Or noticed that when you’re worried, your digestion just... stops?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we don’t just digest food. We digest experiences, information, and emotions. When a situation is "hard to swallow," it travels through the three chambers of your body—the Triple Jiao—leaving a physical footprint along the way...

Some exciting and important things happening in the background.

Here's an update from the Constitution Working Group, part of the process that's helping to knit together our two professional bodies.

This helps protect and support this incredible medicine as we grow together.

Such a good conversation! Progesterone has a rep!

Bit let's helicopter over the situation a lityle and tespect the different mechanisms at play with prescribed Progesterone (progestins in contraceptives, or bioidentical in HRT or IVF)

Dose and livermetabolism matter.

Prescribed Prog in pill form tends to head straight to the liver and get converted into neurosteroids at higher rate than our natural progesterone would...which means a big wave hitting the GABA receptors which can backfire leading to worsening anxiety and related symptoms.

Topical (skin applied) prescribed Prog bypasses this liver conversion issue, but is still a high dose compared to our normal delicate balance.

This is why it has a bad reputation. But it is so important, and so protective. We need it to keep the wildchild Oestrogen in check.

I tend to prefer natural progesterone cream, such as ProGest, applied to the breasts 2x per day from mid cycle to bleed, or 3 weeks on 1 weeks off in menopause.
And build slowly.

Lots of other players involved, like oestrogen dominance, histamine and low Zinc, b6 or mag...

But bottom line? Low and slow 👌

I don't know what we're all talking about oestrogen like its oxygen...we dont need more damn oestrogen....were swimming in the stuff!

Progesterone though...different story altogether.

Every acupuncture point is named after its influence on the mind, body and spirit.

They have a deeply powerful impact that goes far beyond the clinical medical aspects we know them for.

On a mission to help us the remember the power in our bodies!
