🥳 One year of the PHW Dry Run 🥳

Apologies for the wind 💨 it wouldn’t be Renville without it to be fair!

Celebrate one year of the Dry Run with us this Sunday the 10th of May at 8:50am on the green at the top of the park. Remember, the Dry Run is for all abilities!! So we will split into groups to make sure everyone is catered to and nobody is feeling overwhelmed 🏃🏼‍♀️

We’ll round it off with a coffee and treats in .ireland afterwards 🎂

Osteoporosis is my topic of the month 🦴

300,000 people are estimated to have osteoporosis in Ireland which will effect 200million women worldwide 📈

Osteoporosis is the weakening of the bones, particularly the wrists, hips and spine increasing the risk of fracture with low-level trauma ⛓️‍💥

Osteopenia is the stage prior to osteoporosis ⏮️

Identification is through a DEXA scan 🩻

A reduction in oestrogen will speed up bone loss to 20% during the menopause 🚺 One in three women over the age of 50 will have a fracture related to osteoporosis. These can be debilitating fractures and so our prevention, identification and management of osteoporosis is of utmost importance!

Women can also be at risk of osteoporosis earlier in life with eating disorders or Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) which may cause the individual to be undernourished and disrupt the menstrual cycle.

Join us on the 10th of May to celebrate one year of the PHW Dry Run 🎉💜

The Dry Run is a once monthly women’s run club for all abilities. We begin with a warm up and then split into groups based on ability so that everyone is catered to.

Join us on the 10th of May at 8:50am on the green at the top of Renville Park 📍 we’ll have some celebratory treats and coffee in the wonderful .ireland afterwards 🩷
