Community First Responders - Oughterard

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported our two recent fundraising events. We had a very successful raffle at the craft fair in Oughterard Community Center on the 24th of November where we raised €951. We would like to thank the OCC Board for their support.
We held our coffee morning on Friday the 29th of November at Powers Thatch Bar and this event was a tremendous success where we raised €6624 and it was all thanks to you—those who attended, donated, baked and contributed in so many ways.

A special thank you to the local businesses and individuals who generously donated raffle prizes, and to Powers Thatch Bar for hosting us. Your contributions were invaluable.

The incredible turnout and sense of community spirit on the day, and the encouraging feedback we’ve received has been heartwarming. Thanks to your support, we’ve raised enough funds to purchase two more AED units for our team, which will help us respond even more effectively to emergencies.

Since our launch, we’ve attended many calls, making a real difference in our community, and this wouldn’t be possible without your ongoing support.

Thank you once again for being part of this journey with us!

🎉 Exciting Announcement! 🎉

We are thrilled to announce that the Oughterard First Responders Group will officially go live this Friday, March 1st, 2024! It's been an incredible journey, with over a year of planning, intensive training, tireless fundraising, and meticulous setup. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support and generosity of our amazing local community. Your funding donations have been instrumental in helping us acquire vital training equipment and kit for each Group Responder.

We want to extend our sincerest gratitude to every single person who contributed to our fundraising efforts. Your donations, big and small, truly embody the remarkable community spirit of Oughterard. Additionally, we want to express a heartfelt thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who have generously given their time and energy to make this initiative a reality. It's been great opportunity to get to know everyone and form a great Group for the future. Our core aim is to be there in the crucial first moments of a potential life-threatening emergency, bridging the gap until the ambulance crew arrives. But our commitment doesn't stop there! We are dedicated to providing basic first aid training to local groups and organizations in our community, empowering everyone with life-saving skills. We are beyond excited to finally serve the wonderful community of Oughterard and look forward to making a positive difference together! 🚑💙

The community is at again....Incredibly grateful to all the McGauley family who, on the back of the 2nd Anual Rosie McGauley Truck & Tractor Run, gave a very generous donation to Community First Responders - Oughterard.
Proceeds will be put to good use helping us better serve our catchment area, and attend to potentially life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, heart attack, stroke or choking.
