Oakdale Nursing Home Oakdale Nursing Home is situated close to all amenities in Portarlington, on the border of County Offaly and County Laois.

It is a purpose-built nursing home that values and respects its residents and is very much plugged into the local community.

We are thrilled to announce that Mamie won the very first ‘Olivia Slater Admin of the Year Award’ at the 2025 NHI Care Awards.
As we all know, everyone who comes through the door at Oakdale is greeted with a warm smile and welcome from Mamie, who works tirelessly to keep the admin side of the nursing home running whilst also being the front of house.
We are delighted that Mamie’s hard work and commitment to the residents, families and staff at Oakdale is being recognised.
Mamie was honoured to accept the award from the Slater family- Nigel and Darren, and Minister Kieran O’Donnell. The presentation of this award was significantly poignant as it is dedicated in memory of Olivia Slater, the NHI administrator who sadly passed away in January of this year. Mamie was thrilled to share this moment with the Slater family, and to share a few words with them too.

Let’s all give a massive shout-out to Mamie, we are so proud for your massive accomplishment!

We want to wish a big congratulation to Mamie Dunne for being shortlisted for ‘Olivia Slater Administrator of the Year’ award at the 2025 NHI Care Awards.

Mamie is the first face to greet everyone here at Oakdale, and we are thrilled that she is being recognised in the first every administrator category at the NHI Care awards.

We are so proud that Mamie’s hard work and dedication to Oakdale Nursing Home is being recognised, and anyone who has visited the nursing home knows that Mamie is always there to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on.

This award is in dedication to Olivia Slater, a pillar of the NHI team who sadly passed away this year. Olivia was renowned for her unwavering dedication, warmth, and sincere commitment to supporting to residents, and colleagues.

The NHI are seeking to honour an administrator who embodies kindness, respect, and service, with exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills and initiative in improving systems. We know Mamie fits the bill and could not be any more deserving of this award
