🚗 Concerned About Driving with Huntington's Disease? 🚗

If you are experiencing symptoms of Huntington’s Disease or have received a confirmed diagnosis, it's essential to take steps regarding your driving.

❓ A diagnosis of HD doesn’t necessarily mean you must stop driving immediately. Consult your GP if you wish to continue driving but have concerns about your ability. Your GP can offer guidance on the necessary steps.

📝 The RSA provides important information on medical fitness to drive in Ireland. You are legally required to inform the National Driver Licence Services (NDLS) of any long-term injury or illness that may affect your driving ability. Huntington's Disease is one of the conditions that require a medical report.

Stay safe and informed! 🌟

"We would like to take this opportunity to give you our heartfelt thanks for the kindness and care you give to my son who lives with you in Laurel Hill Unit. He has been with you now for several months and is very happy and settled. He calls Laurel Hill Unit home and he loves being there. The staff working with him...nurses, doctors, care staff, and all other staff involved in his care are so kind and understanding towards him and this makes it much easier for us to know he's so well cared for and all his needs are taken care of lovingly and patiently. The unit feels like home for him, and not a hospital. Staff treat him as a young man who lives there who has certain needs, not as a dementia patient and there is always a warm, welcoming atmosphere when we come to visit. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the home you are providing for him and all the love and support."

This touching testimonial from a family highlights our mission at Bloomfield Hospital to provide compassionate care and enable each individual to live a fulfilling life. If you or a loved one are seeking support, please contact us at info@bloomfield.ie.

June is Pride Month – a month dedicated to celebrating LGBTQ+ communities all around the world. It’s a time to celebrate acceptance and inclusion, and to call for greater unity, visibility and equality for the LGBTQ+ community. Pride is all about being proud of who you are. This year’s Pride theme is SHINE. Shine means to give forth light, but it also means to cast light into dark places, or to restore the brilliance of things that have gotten dull. Pride celebrates the light we all hold which it is brightest when shared.

Happy Pride Month! 🌈
