The MyMind team offer our sincere thanks to Aimee, who will be taking part in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon on May 31 in support of our services!

Aimee has kindly shared her own mental health journey and the positive impact of MyMind's support during challenging times:

"MyMind gave me access to free and then subsidised psychotherapy at a time when I so desperately needed it. That support changed everything for me. It helped me heal in ways I didn’t think were possible. I truly believe everyone deserves access to that kind of support when they need it most."

Today is World Maternal Mental Health Day, drawing attention to the increased vulnerability to mental illness among women brought on by life changes during and following pregnancy.

From wmmhday.org:

As many as 1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder (PMAD). Symptoms can appear any time during pregnancy and the first 12 months after childbirth. There are effective and well-researched treatment options available to help women recover.

World Maternal Mental Health Day seeks to drive social change with a goal toward improving the quality of care for women experiencing all types of PMADs, and reducing the stigma of maternal mental illness.

Today marks the start of European Mental Health week 2026, with the theme "Stronger Together: Prioritise Mental Health in a Changing Europe".

It's a week that reminds us to be mindful of our own mental health, but also a celebration of genuine human connection, community, support, and inclusion in challenging times.

As part of the week, a wide range of community organisations and institutions across Europe will be holding over 40 events, many of which can be attended online.

MyMind’s social mission is to provide professional, affordable, and accessible mental health services to anyone experiencing mild to moderate health challenges. We do this by removing barriers often encountered by individuals seeking support. These include:

The Cost Barrier

MyMind makes counselling and psychotherapy affordable, with fees tied to income. HSE-funded Low Cost and Free sessions are available to a wide range of individuals.

The Location Barrier

MyMind offers face-to-face sessions from 11 locations across Ireland, and online through video, giving you control over when and where your appointments are held.

The Referral Barrier

MyMind provides appointments through self-referral, our clients simply register and book, without need for referral by a GP or medical professional.

The Time Barrier

MyMind is an Early Intervention service, encouraging individuals to seek professional support for mild to moderate mental health challenges without delay. For this reason, we offer first appointments without waiting lists and within 72 hours of registration

To learn more about how MyMind can help you with managing challenging thoughts, feelings, and improve your mental wellbeing, visit mymind.org, or call our team on 0818 500 800.

Today we celebrate World Health Day with a gentle reminder to be mindful of our Mental Health.

From the World Health Organization: "Mental health is a lot more than the absence of illness. It is an intrinsic part of our individual and collective health and wellbeing."

The theme for this year is “Together for health. Stand with science”, calling on governments, scientists, health workers, partners, and the public to:

⭐ Stand with science by engaging with evidence, facts, and science-based guidance to protect health

⭐ Rebuild trust in science and public health

⭐ Support science-led solutions for a healthier future
