On Sunday members from Harold’s Cross joined up with the 7th Troop Scouts at St Mary’s College Rathmines, to show them some first aid basics. Some of which included: how to call 999/112, how to control bleeding and the application of slings. We also demonstrated how to place an unconscious patient in the recovery position and how to recognise if somebody is not breathing, may not have a pulse and how to start CPR if ever needed.

Calling an ambulance and starting CPR are the first two stages within the 5 stages of survival. These skills are very important and useful skills to obtain.
