ON DEMAND classes and membership at http://pilatesnow.ie Goretti has been working with bodies, injuries and movement for 19 years, firstly as a CORU Registered Physical Therapist MIAPT running a busy clinic Movement Matters, she subsequently trained as a Pilates Instructor teaching matwork from absolute Beginner to Advanced level. Goretti also specialises in Pregnancy/Prenatal Pilates and Birth Prep and offers Post-Natal Core Restore Programme aka MOMALATES in the Roscommon area, with particular focus on protecting the pelvic floor and abdominals during pregnancy and restoring full core function during the post-natal stage. Classes are run in studio as well as via ZOOM. We also offer ON DEMAND online pilates membership via http://pilatesnow.ie offering progressive courses for all levels of experience, strength and fitness as well as short workouts and zoom classes. Goretti also teaches Modified Pilates APPI in a clinical setting 1:1, so you're specific injury is catered for and the class is designed around you. If your back pain or injury is acute or unstable, this is a good option for you. And when symptoms settle, you may be able to join one of the Group classes. Together with her many years of experience as a Physical Therapist and Pilates Instructor and multiple hours of teaching group and one-to-one classes, Goretti draws on her Sporting background in many Sporting disciplines particularly in County & Club Ladies Gaelic Football, and Schools, College, National and International Volleyball, in order to present classes that are both SAFE and CHALLENGING. The aim is to help people become more aware of their body movements and understand how to correct their bad habits, strengthen their core and in turn benefit both in activities of daily living as well as sports. Class numbers are max 12 persons, allowing for a personalised approach and lots of attention. Open to ladies, gents, young and old. Everyone needs to move! Classes offered for beginners, those returning and more experienced. Courses run for a minimum 6 weeks and progress gradually, layering new exercises onto a sound foundation of the Principles of Pilates, which are revisited in every class. Welcome to all our new Mommies and babies who joined us today for our MOMALATES Phase 1 Postnatal Pilates class. A gorgeous group of m**s taking some time for themselves, and giving themselves the grace and space to recover, rebuild and restore.

We chatted about a lot of things particularly around being a new mam and the expectations we place on ourselves, the emotion of it all, the motherload and all that comes with it.

We focused on breathing, posture, connecting with our pelvic floors and how we move, keeping cortisol levels down to enhance recovery, eating well and sleep!

We chatted and ate pain au chocolate. A lovely class full of support, optimism and joy. It’s going to be a fabulous 6 weeks. Welcome girls!

NEW MOMALATES PHASE 1 postnatal series starts Thursday 6th November at 1030am. There are a couple of spaces available in this class. Come join our postnatal pilates tribe for this specialised, physical therapist-led postnatal programme.

Course details below:
These classes are all about the moms but of course you can bring your baby. As part of the course you will receive access to our MOMA RESTORE online programme to complement your in weekly person classes.

PHASE 1 MOMALATES is suitable from 6 weeks post vaginal birth and 10 weeks post section or once you have had your checkup with GP or ObGyn. Pre-screening registration is required before commencing our programme.

What happens in class?
💓During the weekly class, you will move SAFELY with Goretti who will guide you through postnatal specific, pilates-based exercises, functional motherhood movements, coordinated movement with breathwork, balance and strengthening from inside out.

💓You will learn how your CORE functions as an integrated system, combining breath, alignment, pelvic floor function, abdominal and back muscles.

💓You will gain an understanding of where your body is at in its recovery and which exercises are appropriate and moore beneficial to you on your road to recovery. Remember everyBODY is different, and we all have a different journey to recovery.

💓You will allow your body the time it needs to recover while introducing diastasis and pelvic floor safe exercises, while rebuilding your body from inside out, and making you stronger than ever.

Exercises are modified for pregnancy, taking you from early pregnancy, through the labour ward and beyond, always including modifications that suit you, as your body changes and bump grows. We include lots of functional movement and aim to keep your body strong for pregnancy and birth, and to aid your recovery once baby arrives.

In addition to movement, we cover topics such as breath, pelvic floor, posture, optimum positioning, comfort measures, and the 4th trimester, with lots of tips and advice along the way.

Our courses is tailored for pregnancy, this is the ideal companion to keep you healthy and strong for your pregnancy journey. While movement is central to these classes, we offer more than a simple fitness course. It’s about learning more, taking control, feeling informed, empowered and confident, understanding your body, discovering breathing and relaxation techniques that work for YOU, and preparing YOUR body and mind for each stage of pregnancy and labour, and laying down the foundations for a truely effective recovery, so you feel better and stronger than ever before.

Designed and presented by experienced Physical therapist and mom of two, Goretti Dwyer, these classes come recommended by midwives, gps, physios and most importantly MOMS, and are an amazing way of preparing your BODY and MIND for a positive, healthy pregnancy, labour and journey into motherhood.
