And to Thrive Medical in Henry Street for accommodating us in their lovely consultation rooms for the week so we could do our job and see patients. ๐Ÿ’Š๐ŸŒ Today is European Antibiotic Awareness Day! ๐Ÿ’Š

At Castle Street Surgery, we are committed to raising awareness about the responsible use of antibiotics. Antibiotics are life-saving medications, but their misuse can lead to antibiotic resistance, making it harder to treat infections in the future.

๐Ÿšจ Why does this matter?
Antibiotic resistance is one of the biggest health threats we face globally. Overuse or misuse of antibiotics allows bacteria to evolve and become resistant to treatments that once worked.

What can you do to help?
โœ… Only take antibiotics prescribed by a healthcare professional.
โœ… Donโ€™t pressure your doctor to prescribe antibioticsโ€”they arenโ€™t effective against viral infections like the cold or flu.
โœ… Always complete the full course of antibiotics if prescribed, even if you start to feel better.
โœ… Never share antibiotics or use leftover prescriptions.

By taking these simple steps, we can protect the power of antibiotics and help ensure that they remain effective for future generations.
