I am a qualified cognitive psychotherapist (MSc), Mindfulness life guide and holistic practitioner with over thirty five years of experience in the field of therapeutic practice, supporting others to achieve their full potential.
As well as my work as a Therapist, Holistic Practitioner and Spiritual Mentor, I run the OPAL Meditation and Retreat Centre and teach on a number of nationally accredited qualification courses for holistic practitioners and therapists. I also teach Meditation and Mindfulness to groups and on a one to one basis.
I use a range of techniques and modalities when working with clients. I recognise every person as a unique individual. Therefore rather than expecting the client to fit around a specific model of therapy or coaching, I feel that the method used should be shaped to meet the clientsโ specific needs and requirements. It is for this reason that I produce a specific programme of therapy / coaching for each client. Although most of the therapy and coaching that I provide is cognitive based, I also use meridian based techniques and other forms of holistic processes in consent with the client to help clear negative energy and promote positive energy more effectively. All of the therapy and coaching processes I utilise have a connection with Mindfulness practice.
My Work Related Background
I have had quite a varied working background. This includes working in health care, social work, supported housing, counselling, business management and teaching in adult education. This has given me a richness of experience and skills to draw from.
For a number of years now, I have worked in the field of cognitive therapy and coaching, specialising in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Psychotherapy, Meridian Psychotherapy and Cognitive and Mindfulness Based Coaching. During this time, I have seen how beneficial adopting a wider holistic approach to therapy and coaching is in enabling people to live a more fulfilling and rewarding lifestyle. Often this has enabled them to become more aware of and connected to their true authentic self.
My Professional Affiliations and Qualifications
I am a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS), the British Holistic Medical Association (BHMA) and accredited by the International Institute of Complimentary Therapists (IICT) to deliver IICT approved courses for therapists.
