Have you heard the news?

A new Irish law requires a prescription from a veterinary surgeon to purchase horse wormers, making them Prescription Only Medicines (POM) from December 1, 2025. This change is part of the Veterinary Medicinal Products Regulations 2024 and aims to combat the growing problem of antimicrobial resistance by encouraging more strategic and careful use of anti-parasitics. Horse owners can no longer buy wormers over the counter without a vet's prescription.

So important! It actually all starts with breeding. Some mares already have metabolic issues and because of this they end up with an already 'Unhealthy' foal and most of these youngsters and mares are also fed incorrectly. Which is why many youngster already have problems such as sweet itch, laminitis or other issues😔🙈

You just want to get everything right. ✨

That first foal, that first youngster – and the responsibility feels huge. 💛
But then reality hits. Suddenly the “growing pains” appear:
😬 Worms
🤧 Infections
🦷 Teething
…and you feel overwhelmed, not knowing how to support your youngster properly.

Here are a few basics that truly help:
🌿 Bitter herbs during spring pasture turnout & after deworming support the gut
