Online Public Information meeting: Winter Sports.
UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic is hosting an Online Public Information Meeting focused on preventing injuries during Winter Sports.

Last month, UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic was happy to welcome chief resident Dr Brenda Iglesias from UPMC Pittsburgh, marking the first visit from UPMC International. Brenda has joined us for two weeks through the UPMC Ireland Elective programme and was focused on hand surgery and upper limb procedures. During her time here in Dublin, she experienced a full schedule that highlighted UPMC SSC's commitment to clinical excellence, research, and education.
The visit included observing upper limb surgery with a number of our surgeons: Ms Ruth Delaney, Mr Richard Hanson, Ms Ann Maria Byrne, Prof Cathal Moran, and Mr Hannan Mullett. Brenda also had the opportunity to visit our Sports Medicine Facility, including our Biomechanics Laboratory.
Also, she attended an international rugby match at the Aviva Stadium and visited the Guinness Storehouse.

'Waiting List Reimbursement Scheme'
Are you on an NHS waiting list for Orthopaedic Surgery?
If so, you are entitled to access expert orthopaedic care in Dublin at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic through the Waiting List Reimbursement Scheme (formerly known as the EU Cross Border Directive).
If you live in Northern Ireland and are currently on a waiting list for one year for orthopaedic surgery through an NHS Healthcare Trust or HSC Board, you may be eligible for the Republic of Ireland Reimbursement Scheme. This scheme enables patients to travel to the Republic of Ireland for orthopaedic surgery.
This surgery is paid for initially by the patient and refunded by the NHS.
