Beautiful and fragrant Elderflower πŸ₯°πŸ₯° you can see it blossoming all around us and the divine honey-like aroma has filled up the air. I picked up a few of these gorgeous white flowers today for freshly brewed tea that can be great for seasonal colds, hay-fever and general immunity. Elderflowers bloom for about day or two only but then new ones appear. If foraging some yourself always know what you're picking (check with a foraging guide), harvest just enough, and say thanks πŸ’•πŸ™

You can try mixing Elderflower with local honey in a jar & let it sit for a couple of weeks, the flowers are edible and combine great with honey for an added immunity boost😊

Hawthorn or Ireland's fairy tree flowers are in full bloom now πŸŒΈπŸ’— Astoundingly beautiful! The Hawthorn has been one of my personal favourites for a while, it's truly heart's best friend: Hawthorn can regulate blood pressure, whether it's high or low, it can have cardioprotective properties, helpful for high cholesterol, arteriosclerosis & atherosclerosis, stress-related heart palpitations, heart rhythm irregularities, insomnia and so much more, the list goes on and on.

The pinky-white soft flowers on a background of green leaves correlate to the Heart chakra healing colours. It's enough to stop by for a second and tune in the Hawthorn's energy, the beauty will bring a smile on your face and you may instantly feel more light-hearted, more alive πŸŒΈπŸƒ

You can try Hawthorn on its own or in combination with other herbs for more synergy, learn how at petya.herbalist@gmail.com / 0892211246.

How to make your own herbal vinegar πŸ˜‹

Notes: Before you pick up your preferred herb remember the following:
Make sure you are harvesting the right herb, if in doubt check a wild foraging guide. Pick up herbs from places that are bountiful, harvest what you need and will definitely use 🌿
Give thanks to the herbs for sharing their life energy with you πŸ™
Enjoy the whole process and have fun! 😊

These are the basic steps to follow:

Harvest fresh herbs on a dry preferably sunny day once the morning dew has dried. Use only the freshest and clean shoots. Chop them up well, put them in a clean glass jar and fill up with a good quality vinegar, best is unpasteurised unfiltered apple cider vinegar "with the mother".
Make sure all herbal content is covered, stir if needed then close tightly/seal your jar. Place it away from direct sunlight and leave to infuse for 2 to 4 weeks. If you want you can slightly shake the jar every now and again to mix everything better and also to check on your creation.
Once infused strain and discard herbal material, and pour the vinegar in a new jar. That's it!

Enjoy your herbal vinegar as you'd use any vinegar: in salads, soups, over cooked veg, a spoonful in water. Now you have the extra added health benefits of herbs that you can enjoy on a daily basis. Simple & easy.

I've made vinegar using fresh cleavers: Super Spring Tonic! Cleavers are rich in vitamin C, they are anti inflammatory and cooling and were traditionally used to clear that heavy/stagnated feeling you can get following winter, like a "spring detox". Cleavers can be also helpful for skin conditions, lymphatic congestion, kidney health, and even presumably for weight loss - probably due to their diuretic action.
Harvest Cleavers now before May and before they start flowering, it's the vibrantly green beauty shoots that you need and that will give you a burst of energy πŸŒΏπŸŒ±πŸ’«

Other herbs that make delicious vinegars are Rosemary and Mint

The lush green of herbs 🌿 abundance of vitality. Spring is in the air so why not try and feel light and vibrant like the world around you? Spend time out in the sunshine, walk around the park, breathe in the fresh, let go of what's not needed.
This photo is a like a forest of fresh cleavers. You know those sticky greens that you probably w**d off your garden every year? They could be your best friend: great for immunity, water retention, lymphatic congestion. Or just as "a spring clean". And on top of that they are absolutely delicious! Make sure you use only clean cleavers, preferably from your garden. Put some in your smoothie, make a fresh cleavers juice, or as I did make your own cleavers infused vinegar (check out my next post to learn how) πŸ˜‹

Roses 🌹
Their symbolics have been related to the feminine for centuries: they are beautiful, graceful, tender-hearted yet strong and fierce.
Roses are an amazing plant ally. We all know they are a favourite in skincare products, but did you know they can also help you bloom on the inside: their subtle glowing energy may unravel emotional blockages and open up your heart just like the petals of a rose unfold to the world.
On this day and every day take time to honour and nourish the feminine inside you.

A beautiful reminder πŸ™πŸ’–

Dr. Christopher has said,

β€œSome people follow a very clean diet, take herbs, and are still uncomfortable or even sick. Why? Because they toxify themselves with unhappy, negative thoughts or behaviors. You already possess a degree of health right now. Thank God for that, then go forward to build even better health. Train yourself to live with an” attitude of gratitude,” live positively and generously, and be sure to nurture your spirituality, including prayer and meditation. We consider this to be so important that it is equal to your dietary and herbal programs.”

What are you grateful for this holiday season?

We are grateful for healing herbs that soothe and nourish those who are in need. Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving weekend!
