Winter teaches us that silence is not empty, rest is not failure, and stillness is fertile.
Winter is the womb of transformation—where awareness deepens before life blossoms again.

Winter is not just a season outside, it reflects an inner cycle of consciousness. It offers many teachings:

✨️ Turning Inward (Pratyahara)
In yoga, winter mirrors pratyahara, the withdrawal of the senses. Nature becomes quiet, energy retreats from the surface, and growth happens invisibly. This is a time for introspection, meditation, journaling, and self-study, rather than constant outward activity.

✨️ Rest as Sacred
Trees shed leaves, animals hibernate, and the earth rests. Yoga teaches that conserving energy is wisdom, not laziness.
Honour rest, simplify routines, and protect your vitality.

✨️ Impermanence
Winter reminds us that nothing stays in bloom forever. Decay and stillness are part of the same rhythm as growth and abundance.
Let go of attachment to constant productivity or happiness. Stillness is not stagnation, it’s preparation.

More of this in 2026 please 🙏

How lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place, but even luckier to stop and appreciate it.

As the New Year approaches I urge you to stop and take stock of everything you are grateful for in 2025. The people, experiences, animals even the lessons. There will always be challenges, they come to teach us, make us stronger.

Make 2026 a year where you believe in yourself, your strength, and your ability. Do not start the year with resolutions to change yourself or fix what you see as "wrong", can you start the year with intention? A gentle intention to be present, to appreciate the beauty, to appreciate your strength. Intention to become the best version of yourself, to reach your full potential. An intention to honour your body with good food and movement, to honour your emotions, your mind and soul with kindness and connection to your inner wisdom and strength.

Meet yourself with an open heart, patience, tenderness and kindness.

Happy New Year ✨️

That's a wrap on classes for 2025 ✨️

It has been a BIG year, both in my little yoga corner and in my private life.

There have been huge challenges, I've questioned myself, my ability, my power. I've changed my mindset, adapted the way I do things, my teaching has grown and I have grown. I always knew the importance of being yourself and the right people will find you. But now I feel like I really know myself and am comfortable with myself. I am grateful for these challenges for showing me what I am actually capable of and who I really am.

It is so nerve-racking to put yourself out there. In weekly classes, retreats, and creating new offerings like Sunday Sadhana. But the support I get from people is mind-blowing and really encourages me to learn and share more.

I have so many plans for 2026. More training, retreats and a big plan that will be revealed in the new year sometime 🤫

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being on this journey with me 💕

See you on the mat in 2026 ✨️

How often do you feel like you are in your flow?
What does it feel like?

How does it feel when you are excited about life? Does it feel like things fall into place with not a lot of effort? That you are doing things you love and experiencing joy, gratitude, passion, and bliss. Does it ever feel like you are definitely doing the things you are supposed to be doing? How does it feel to just feel good?

We can all experience this. However, we often block it, busy ourselves with tasks, sensory overload, the mind takes over and gets louder so we cannot tune into ourselves, to what our bodies and our souls are telling us.

We can end this cycle with yoga. With movement, breathwork, cleansing techniques, and meditation. We can dull the constant chatter and need for more and return to the simple, the basic, what we were all born with. Bodies that send us messages, energy and vitality that want to flow through us, emotions and minds that help us, intuition to guide us and bliss. Pure bliss that we are all born with and can tap back into.

My Journey So Far...

I started my yoga journey around 2013 when I was living in Perth, Western Australia. I went to my first class, like many others, looking for a new type of physical exercise. I was surprised to find I couldn’t do many of the poses and I could not believe how stiff my body was and how little balance I had. I went to the gym regularly but I was really surprised that I found yoga physically very challenging. But I quickly saw the benefits. I noticed my body ease into the poses after some practice and felt myself build strength and flexibility and I loved this change I was going through. I also noticed it was one of the only ways I could get my overactive “monkey mind” to slow down. Soon I was practicing 4 / 5 times a week, I was fortunate enough to have amazing teachers at The Yoga Vine in Perth who thought me so much and helped me deepen my journey and I found myself wanting to learn more about the asanas, anatomy, the history, philosophy, meditation and pranayama so I decided to do my teacher training.

I did my 200 hour yoga teacher training In Koh Lanta in Thailand with Dr Gaurav Malik - Ashtak yoga school in 2017. It was an intense, physically and emotionally challenging 4 weeks but an amazing opportunity to immerse myself in the practice and learn everything Gaurav had to teach us. I learned more than I ever thought I would and couldn’t wait to continue my journey and learning.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to practice with and learn from some amazing teachers in Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Ireland. I have practiced many different types of yoga including Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin and Hot yoga. I now teach in Abbeystrewery Hall, Bridge Street, Skibbereen: Dynamic Vinyasa Tuesdays 8pm and Sunrise Vinyasa Thursdays 7am and in Caharagh Mondays at 7pm. I feel so fortunate to be able to share the things I have learned over the years with people and also continue my learning through teaching, completing more trainings and reading. I believe you are forever a student, in every aspect of life and there is so much to learn. I have a huge interest in wellness in general – fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, self-care and essential oils and I am constantly furthering my learning.
