Let’s do a for January’s birth month flower; the carnation.
I love using this flower in both arrangements and gift bouquets because it is such a long-lasting bloom and available in a huge assortment of colours.
Carnations are part of the Dianthus family - the word Dianthus comes from the Greek meaning “flower of Gods”. This flower has been around for at least 2000 years and is native to the Mediterranean.
Different colours of carnations also come with their own meanings. An example of this is the pink carnation which is a symbol of deep gratitude and motherly love.
I’ve included some of my favourite varieties in the photos, hope you like them too 💖
